T6.1 Aftermarket Headlight choices

I have the Factory LED on my 6.1 and Fitted Lazer because I felt the High Beam was still lacking - the dipped is fine....

So depends if your concern is dipped or high beam or both...

If dipped or both then change to LED if just High Beam - fit Lazer Lamps...

The standard lights on a T6.1 are absolutely fine - unless you subscribe to the 'I must have headlights brighter than several suns' school of thought and take pleasure in blinding every other road user.
This is my first transporter and having read all the comments about poor headlights I was expecting the candle in a jam jar effect but was pleasantly surprised with what I got.

Most of the comments will be about the standard T6 headlights which are H4 rather than H7, and downright dangerous.

For once, VW seemed to have taken note when designing the T6.1 !!

If you're not happy with the performance of the standard H7 headlights in the T6.1, the best upgrade you can choose is the full LED headlights from THQ. They are miles better than any other aftermarket product out there, including the V3s with LED or HID bulbs and are easily as good as OEM VW LED lights, maybe even better.

I guess you must eat a lot of carrots........they are shocking compared to any other transporter I have owned. Nice to be easily pleased as saves your pennies for something else to change ha ha

OEM LED headlights are the best for the VW T6.1. For a stylish alternative, Audi-style HQ LEDs offer a sleek, modern look at a lower cost.

It depends on when you drive - I drive every day at around 2.15 AM on country roads - so need as much light as I can get to see the Foxes and Rabbits.... if your in city or urban with street lighting then probably standard lights are OK.

No problem with my H7's. Decent depth and field of view, ideal as I do a lot of rural driving.

The only issue, if indeed it is an issue at all, is that it's a yellower light than the ultra-white LED light from the Mini I'd been used to previously.

I got the Lazer's waiting to go on when my Sil has five minutes free because I'm a Swamper poseur rather than any real need.

The new full LED lights from THQ are bloody fantastic! I've had them fitted since April and they make such a difference to the van! You cam actually see at night now! Don't bother with anything else imho!

As you can see, several schools of thought about lights.

Probably best you drive it for a few weeks at night - town and country - and see whether you are happy with them or not.
You might end up saving yourself a couple grand (?) by leaving them alone.

I drove the 330 miles home after collect in my new van yesterday. The standard H7’s are fine.

Hi all.
Looking for some LEDs front and rear for a kombi 6.1 with standard lights at the moment.
Any recommendations where to buy and get some fitted ? Thx

If your finances allow, you are better of with the factory led ones.
Yes they are expensive, hence why I made sure I got my t6.1 with them.
But you know they are road legal, will fit correctly in bumper housing and build quality is far more superior to the aftermarket ones I have seen. Plus you won't be dazzling other road users.

It is worth looking for a van with them in all honesty mate.
If you source the parts via LLL parts, vw van parts direct etc you are looking at £3k.

Bloody hell 3k. ? I’ve found some on facebook £300 but they don’t look the same as proper Vw ones

Or buy 10 times to equal the same cost .
Then factor in the cost of having them fitted . ... makes buying g a van with 'proper' headlights more of a priority.
