T6.1 Lane assist/Traffic sign recog. camera after windscreen replacement

Glad to hear you got it sorted:thumbsup:

It’s a bloody shame more of the main dealers still don’t seem to have a clue after all this time!

Just sat in the doctors reading this post

I’ve got two T6.1 with exactly the same issue
camera was calibrated by Autoglass who tricked it into working

This worked for six months or so and then it went back to as it was previously

Went to a independent specialist who informed me the camera had failed

Back to VW and they fitted a new camera and then couldn’t calibrate it

New camera out and old one back in
Vw now say it’s because of the lowered suspension and non VW screen

Plan now is to have a genuine screen fitted at my cost and then take it back to VW to get them to sort it

Any thoughts gratefully accepted

Cheers Pete

Ps speed camera recognition and auto dim lights no lane assist

Which apparently if another issue

Have you solved this yet? I should have read this first before allowing AutoGlass near my van, anyway surprise surprise I have a big error on my dash and the ADAS isn’t calibrated. They say it’s because it’s been lowered as an excuse, but it’s obvious that it’s lowered on coil overs fitted before I bought it brand new (Black Edition). They really shouldn’t have taken the job on if they know they can’t do it but at the absolute worst case scenario it looks like a trip to Bridgewater paid for by Autoglass. This was Friday morning, still waiting from Autoglass for what they plan to do next.

Your car has an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) which are safety features designed to
help avoid collisions and/or automated systems for better driving. Due to this, your vehicle is fitted
with a forward-facing camera (Camera) that sits behind your windscreen. The Camera is linked to the
operation of certain safety features on your vehicle. To ensure these features work correctly, your car
manufacturer recommends that following a windscreen replacement the Camera is recalibrated.

Unfortunately, Autoglass® has not been able to successfully recalibrate your camera. As a result,
some features on your car may not operate properly until the camera has been recalibrated.
PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION AND DO NOT RELY ON THESE FEATURES UNTIL YOUR CAMERA HAS
BEEN RECALIBRATED.

Autoglass® has a duty to inform you that Autoglass® nor your insurer (where applicable) can be held
liable in any way for any future event caused or exacerbated by not recalibrating ADAS on your
vehicle for whatever reason. You hereby understand and acknowledge this risk.

Is it just Autoglass or has anyone else had problems with other firms where ADAS is involved lowered or not.

Update, van went back to Autoglass last week and it appears to be all good now with the ADAS. It did ping a fault the next morning with a frozen windscreen but has been clear since. Don’t know what they did but it was carried out by an outside contractor in pretty quick time. My only complaint is the time it took for Autoglass to get someone in and the time I had to spend chasing them.
