T6.1 new order delays

I'm sure I read somewhere that in VWs recently released financial statement that although sales were down significantly due to the pandemic, profit was up by 450% as they are only shipping their most profitable vehicles.

Any news on factories opening up for assembly? Also if some dealers are making statements, who are they?
I was told that the factories were only closed for 4 days while sourced wiring looms from another place rather than Ukraine.
Can’t see anything online to say that they are still closed.
Believe me I’m searching all the time as I want my van!
My Transit Custom went back last Friday and am borrowing my daughters Pug Partner but she needs it on the odd day to do her dog walking business. This is now gonna hurt me financially.

Thanks for that. I’m contacting the van centre tomorrow to see what’s happening. They indicated to me that the closures were for 2-3 weeks. Well it’s 3 weeks since then.

Exactly. VW who are a multi billion dollar business can’t even tell you a date for a van build even tho every component is logged. They must know every part available to know what can and can’t be built!

For reference: ordered T6.1 199bhp DSG March 2021, unconfirmed build week 21. It’s all getting a-bit ridiculous now. Ordered from VW listers group

The only thing that surprises me about your post is that you were given a provisional build week. I thought VW had abandoned those as they are now pretty meaningless (they can and do change at a moment's notice).

Oh I’ve had 5 different status 10 build weeks now ranging from November 21 - June 22. What’s the alternative to a Vw t6.1?

Just had to return my 19 plate Leased Transit Custom last Friday. On Mother’s Day the passenger window kept opening itself. The following weds I lost all the dash electrics. No fuel gauge, rev counter, Speedo etc…
That’s one alternative you should all avoid!!

Has anyone had good news like @Stuart Docchar where there is going to be price protected.

I just can't understand it all , surly better updates must be available not just these phantom provisional build dates thats come and go was they please . I spoke to a few local dealers recently ,any t6.1 orders from now are minimum 12months ,one dealer told me being realistic 18months.

My question is will the still be building these in 18months or will it all just get cut and stopped for new multi van , ID buzz.

Would love to know what is the total outstanding UK order for T6.1 there must be thousands waiting

I've not been informed officically that my price is increasing. In fact, unless I ring, I have virtually zero contact.

Last conversation in January was no provisional build, no clue really.

Ordered 6th Feb 2021, so 14 months tomorrow. I hope that the price protection is correct though.

Hi VioletVW,

Out of interest what did you order? I placed my order mid Feb 21 with Listers and like so many people on this forum, have had my build dates confirmed and then cancelled many times.

I have price protection in writing and have been told, if my vehicle arrives in June I will not be paying the increased price. She didn’t say which year, but even so, Listers are talking June delivery.

Hi,

It's a DSG, 150 T30 kombi, lots of options ticked: electric doors and tailgate, tow bar. It would seem that many of my requested options have been mentioned as those delaying the build.

I don't have price protection in writing, was this something you asked for? As I mentioned previously, I've heard very little and absolutely no discussion regarding a price rise.

If Listers think June then it's possible mine may be on a similar timeline.

It ridiculous really.

Hi,
I asked for written confirmation of price protection and during various conversations she has confirmed this.
I have copied a paragraph from said letter with regard to delays;

“There are currently part component delays on tow bars, power latching on all doors, cassette windows and sensors across most models which could add up to 12 week delays. This would mean if we secured March production we could be looking as late as June for delivery, again as discussed there is no guarantee that the 12 weeks is a definite however I am confident the supply chains situation is improving and am hopeful that we will see your vehicle before the end of our H1.”

I’ve got a nagging feeling that I won’t see my vehicle until Autumn, year…….

Clever, getting price promise. I never thought the van would take this long and didn't consider asking. I just hope that if what @Stuart Docchar has said applies to all van centres....

The most annoying thing for me is that this is my second order. The first was with a Fleet operator and that order was August 2020. In total I've been waiting 20 months. Not been a great experience.

What made you cancel the fleet order?
They had all of their orders pulled by VW. The dealers were unable to fulfill their own customer orders and subsequently cancelled fleet orders. I think a few arrived but not in the numbers that they were expecting. They couldn't then guarantee delivery any time soon and any orders would have been subject to the price rise so I had my deposit back and ordered direct..

My situation hasn't improved since then.
