T6.1 new order delays

Are you converting to full camper? If so, be careful - a lot of conversions are too heavy for a T28. You may need to uprate the suspension and, even then, you won't have a huge payload to play with. Hopefully you've already factored these things in to your plans.
Going for steelpods systems so should be fine.

You’re not alone, not that that’s any consolation. One year exactly since I confirmed my order and paid a deposit, and still no confirmed production date from VW. The latest update continues to show the order status at 10 and estimated build date in week 29.

Sure I have said this before but another person with a status 10 around week 27-week 29 .

That’s a lot of disappointed people over the next few weeks / next month , myself included

Would it be possible to ask why a lot of people like to hold off for the newest Reg . Am I missing something ?.

I can remember people saying this around January time and wanting to hold off for the new reg.
New plate snobs :)

My Van has arrived today at the dealership so just waiting for the PDI to be completed and should have it before my birthday on Sunday :)
Will have the van on my drive for a week then before it goes off to get converted for 2 weeks!
Its only taken 14 and a half months o_O

All to do with the resale value of a new plate commanding a few hundred quid more. This may apply less to modded-out vans and to campers, but the learnt behaviour is still there. As a Yorkshireman I'm all for saving/ making a few quid where I can, so I'm not sure a sneery remark is really called for.

@Monty1987, the effect is greater for those vehicles registered in Jan and Feb, as you can say, for example, "a 2022 van on a 71 plate" all you want, but the reality is people tend to see the "71" and value it as a 2021 vehicle.

Ironically at the last update from the dealer a few weeks ago mine is the same status and build week

OMG… the best news today after 15 months of being on this thread and the VW rollercoaster which has finally stopped at my station!
It’s built and left the factory so may be at the dealership end of the month… just when I’m on holiday!
What could possibly… I’m not even gonna say it! ;)

15 months! that's got to be a record. Well done.

My 12 month Anniversary is on the 28th June. Think is at the moment our family is going through the heartbreaking news that my daughters best mate has died on a motorcycle. Only 22 years old. He was a great kid who visited often.
It sure puts thinks into perspective. Not even thinking about the van atm :(

Dont know if we are just lucky in NZ as its about 6-7 months delivery and that includes shipping.
VW NZ have std block orders in for say 50 vans all the time, so when you order something special they just change one of the stock order to your spec

Maybe i could start exporting them back to Europe :)
