T6.1 new order delays

My Sportline is finally being built. Got a status 20 last Friday. Saying will be in the uk in a month then 5 weeks to do the Sportline conversion. Hopefully early Xmas pressie!!
Ordered 28/06/21
Mine has been in the country for 4 weeks and is 'currently' getting the sportline treatment. I was at the dealers last week and was quoted up to an 8 week delay from then as some of the sportline conversion parts are on back order. that means it could have been in the country 3 months before I see it. Hopefuly by the time yours arrives the back order parts will be in stock.

I really don't understand why VW have to send the van to a third party for the Sportline conversion and then fail to supply the conversion parts at the same time.

UPDATE!!!!!

Just taken a call from Martin at VW Tonbridge and he has sorted it all. I do NOT have to come up with £1000. He is in the process of cleaning the van for me to hopefully, collect it tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I believe Martin was instrumental in sorting this out on my behalf. I must add that I have not been put off Volkswagen as a brand. There is a reason why I was willing to wait as long as it took to get my VW Transporter. I will be remembering Martin at Christmas! :)
I hope all of you waiting for your vans are going to feel the elation I am feeling right now.

Thank you all for reading.

I believe it was ordered August '21...I hijacked one from a batch the converter had ordered and managed to get the spec changed to what I wanted without dropping down the queue (although they were originally due in June). Did that in April this year. Spec is 204 DSG SWB 4-Motion with far too many boxes ticked. Had to lose the auto-latching tailgate as it had been removed off the options when the dealer changed the spec. Did have a confirmed build week of 26, but that got bumped to 32 and now says 33....praying regularly now!!
Ours was ordered Nov 21. Tentative build date week 48 with the latest delay reason being a shortage of tyres for the LWB.

Not wishing to jinx it, but ours is built and due in the country in the next couple of weeks...fingers crossed!

Still here. 12 months now for my Ravenna blue Highline Panel van. Anyone else had dealings with VW Lookers Newcastle? I don't get any info that others seem to get.

I don’t think the parts are coming from VW hence you can’t get a front bumper through VW.

Pretty much 18 months from when I ordered my Kombi Feb 21 to when I picked her up last Thursday. It sucks having to wait so long, but after driving it for the last few days, it is well worth the wait.
Thanks @Bav for your insurance explanation, it was your information that got me an Agreed Value for my vehicle and a 10% discount from A-Plan.
Guys, hang in there. It is worth the wait.
Here is my pride and

I’ve used Martin & Matt at SMG for my last 2 Kombi’s. First place I’ll be going if I ever buy again.

Enjoy your new van!!

Great outcome - this is what they should have done from the beginning!

So what's different about LWB tyres, as opposed to SWB tryes? Surely they're the same.

Thank you, weird that they market it as an actual VW model if parts have to be purchased from a third party as then you are at the mercy of other supply chain issues.

Just enquired about my build date for an order I placed beginning of August 22 and got this reply from the dealer…

‘The current build week for your vehicle is Week 45 of 2022 which is the week commencing the 30th of October.

Whilst this is the current build week, it could potentially change but I will check a little more often now as it is moving quickly’

Really?

Hi all. I’ve been lurking here since I ordered my van (Jan ‘22) and have been told I have a build date of Oct 10th week 41. If all goes to plan, what is the time from build to delivery?
