T6.1 new order delays

Just been looking at VW's May 2022 list price that @Pauly has kindly uploaded to the forum today.

Ignoring the dealer discount I got from JCB Ashford, the OTR price for my spec of van has gone from £47.5k (as at order on 20 May 2021) to £54.5k. That's an increase of almost 15%!!!

This increase doesn't even take into consideration that the original price includes an electric tailgate (then a £720 option), which appears to no longer be an option.
Are dealers passing this increase on? I’ve only paid a deposit on my van.,

I’ve been price protected from last May luckily!
Mine was price protected too, thankfully!
How did you manage that @Bundy88 and @tommarkwick? @Markebo3 is in Oz, so they obviously have different VW contracts and different contract-law over there, but the standard VW UK contract allows VW to weasel out of their price protection.

From my own experience, having ordered May '21, in January '22 my dealer informed me that VW were removing price protection for any van not delivered before the end March '22. I have since heard from Autoebid and from others on this forum (but not had it confirmed by my dealer) that VW had removed price protection, but that I would "only" have to pay the list price as at December '21 (lucky me!).

As I have not got my van yet, I can't confirm whether the above is true or not, though if you look back through this thread, there are quite a few who have had to pay more than they agreed when they ordered.

Just had a phonecall from JCB Sittingbourne. My LWB Sportline is now built and on the way to port. Should be in the UK in 10 days then sent to wales to 4-5 weeks to have all the Sportline stuff chucked on it. Been told pick up end of November ish. Ordered June 28th 2021. Bit of wee came out when I got the news :p

Damn you! I ordered the same as you April 21 from lookers Guildford and the latest update was build week 50. Glad you have nearly got yours but I have definitely lost interest in having one now.
Did you order with loads of extras?
I just added a 80l fuel tank.

Could be down to the relationship the dealer has with the converter in my case...but I do count myself very lucky.

I ordered from main dealer in January and had my final price yesterday. No change except for road tax going up £15.
I guess that's relatively easy for VW to swallow, as their costs haven't rocketed between January and now, whereas they did rocket during the second half of 2021.

Nice one Stu! Looks like I’ll be moving from the thread by end of November. My moneys on folk getting there new orders in faster than what we waited. Things are moving faster now according to my dealer. Maximum 6 months wait is the vibe on the grapevine.
