T6.1 new order delays

Spoke to my dealer today and was told its part built but apparently its awaiting parts for the reversing camera and tow bar I give up

Well done to those whose managed to get there van recently am not jealous honest
I have been to the factory in hannover, I can't see how they can be part built.
As they go round the assembly line all the parts for each vehicle are lined up ready.
The line has left and right hand drive caravelle, shuttles, kombis and any special builds.
Each vehicle has a small cube attached with all the data for the build so at each stage it knows what to fit.

Probably is bullsh… but also previous factory tour was I assume pre-covid and pre war in Ukraine? Would they part build some if got capacity now to save time later? Could the just in time logic mean some parts dont arrive just in time but build already started?

If thats the case then mine will be the same if not worse with the options I put on my build!!

They are refitting the Hanover plant to produce the Id buzz .. a whole lot of them!
Diesel Transporters are old news I just want mine and everyone else who’s ordered to be fulfilled without been stuffed around anymore (please)

The factory is massive, when we went round it in 2016 they were putting a new line in, it didn't effect the existing line.

I my humble opinion.. To build up to producing 130,000 Id buzz units a year I believe something’s gotta give
Like dropping off the production of 180,000 transporter variants and redirecting the not unlimited workforce to the new lines ..sort of a no brainer as they said they want to move transporters to turkey with ford .. and present timing and into the future it stinks even more for the current T6.1 orders.
Chip shortages are you kidding me the buzz has double and a tow kits stop pulling my leg

Just spoke to my dealers and was told it now has a non confirmed date of week 4, original est was for march 21. Hopefully it gets confirmed and doesn’t move

I had a confirmed build date 2 weeks ago, went to dealers today and guess what not built yet.

That doesn't bode well for those of us with provisional build dates.

Same happened to me. If yours is a Kombi, dealer stated that kombi‘s were currently taking 3 weeks to build so hang on in there. I got notification at the end of the 3rd week from build that it had left the factory.

Yes a kombi, hope its only 3 weeks

Just received an email from my dealer - I have a confirmed build of week 45 (w/c 7 Nov). Based on the above 3 weeks for a kombi build, that would make it 18 months exactly from order to end of build - a long old wait.

Anyone care to offer their thoughts on the likely timeline from end of build to delivery to me?

Hi Bav. My build week was week beginning 15th of August. Delivery to me was the 13 of October. The van did not arrive at the dealers until the 7th of October. Not sure if that helps.

Thanks @Stu90.

That would mean I'd get my grubby mitts on it some time in early January - a late Christmas present then.

Mate of mine ordered July 21, finally got a build date end of August, still no van now and vw have no update. Its a kombi lwb not many extras

Exactly the same as mine, except it went direct from dealer to converter so I don't 'actually' have it yet!
