We 've got a T6 Beach on a 2017 plate and am having issues with the leisure battery not charging, the RCD in the boot of the van trips instantly and I suspect the factory fit VW charger is to blame, seeing as the charger is hidden behind the trim I'd like to have a suitable replacement part (not the VW original at £400+) to hand so I've only got to take the van apart once... My question is does anyone know if the original charger is a triple output unit that also charges the main battery? This seems to be the case based on the Erwin diagram I've downloaed for my Cali but I cant find any definitive answer on the web. I've checked the fuses that I've got and I seem to have both SH28 and SH2 under the passengers seat so it would seem that it might charge the main battery via SH2 and Joint B307 to terminal 30 (unswitched battery feed). The red wire (*8) from SH2 to B169 is only on August 2018 onwards according to the schematics notes. All the *5 wires are 'depending on equipment fitted' so not much help.
Basically I'm looking at the victron smart chargers and need to work out if I need the triple output version or only need a single output, any advice would be much apprreciated!
