T6 Delays

Called dealer today after reading @Twoguns post ,I finally have a build date ,not a very impressive one .
Told week 49####### for f##k sake
So that will be 11 months since order .
He said it might come forward .

I tried Listers before i committed to Van Centre Birmingham. Got fed up with Listers messing me about and not returning calls. Took nearly two weeks to give me a price to swap so told them to stuff it in the end. On the flip side, Listers Stratford service and parts for VWCV are spot on for customer service.

Sounds like your order is nestled behind the RAC's new 2017 fleet order. 400 + T6 units if the rumour is true :(

Strange how it goes @HHO I had no interest from Birmingham but after slow start I have been getting good service for Mike at listers. I do think they more fleet/large orders than one off builds but who knows, pays ya money takes ya choose for good or bad

@Twoguns ,did the dealer call and tell you that .?
Good question @carlg as I would be suspicious if I called him. He actually called me thankfully.

I asked him how come it’s so early compared to the stories I’ve read on here and the other forum.

He believes it may be due to the switch over of engines. He said there was a period where dealers couldn’t place orders on the central system for Euro 6 engines but they were taking orders that would stay at the dealership and placed later when the system allowed them to, or they would place an order for the old engine when the new engine wasn’t available and then the dealers had to email the correct spec to head office who would in turn, amend the order when the system allowed them to when the Euro 6 showed on the system.

This would then create a back log of emails which only a few people at head office would have to put in and maybe even still to be put in. Whereas I waited until the system allowed my dealer to place the order in the traditional way which would go straight onto the central system without any intervention from anyone else.

I hope I’ve explained that clear enough as it sounds a pretty messed up situation VW put people in. Or it could be yet another bull shit story that we are being feed.

I think I need to go in and look at the screen myself ,when I ordered it was for euro 5 ,but with part delays and euro 6 it's just moved on original build date was mid April.

Good luck pal I hope you get it sorted. I'm still expecting mine to be delayed anytime now.

It’s really bad as it shows no customer confidence. They are lucky that the Transporter brand is as popular as it is, as I’m sure if it wasn’t then they would suffer.

1st april i placed my order. build week was 28 then the supply hold ups started.

I had VWCS telling me ours was massively delayed but the dealer telling us it was just about on time.
It arrived at about the time we were originally given - not sure what's happened with VWCS but the people I spoke to were mostly hopeless call centre goons with no clue.
With our last Cali is was the opposite - VWCS was good, the dealer (who I won't use again) was terrible.

Ordered a t6 kombi 204ps dsg, sunroof led lights etc as soon as the order book opened in may originally quoted September delivery, just spoke to my dealer whos now quoting week 45 delivery 2nd week of December

Can't believe you got week 45 when ordering in May ,I get week 49 ordered in February ,the plot thickens

What spec have you ordered etc?
what was your original lead time ?
Original build week was April ,then may then went off system when my17 came in .was a T32 highline 180 dsg kombi
Leds, twin doors recently added power latching, heated and swivel seats, swivel now removed hoping this would speed build up,sat nav ,f&r sensors with camera
Plus about another 12 options, quite a high spec ,should of bought a Caravelle

It does seem to be the combi with lots of extras + dsg that they are not getting build,. do you think it messes the prodution line up with these builds, were as a batch of 300+ standard t6 are quick and easy to produce. The euro engine change over and the lack of stock it has been a poor show from vw, i think the success of the t6 has suprised them?

The only surprise must be the LOW sales figures - Year to date the total sales are over 10% down compared to the T5.1. March this year is down nearly 14%. Something is seriously wrong at VWC - to have customers waiting over 6 months for dealer orders is just bad news- especially when the sales are lower than the previous year . I know the Germans don't like an oversupply situation but a under supply one is just as bad, and the Euro 6 engine switch is no excuse either- all the manufactures were faced with the same dates and yet Ford seem to have got their act together with sales up over 20% and Renault nearly 21% up.

March 2016 saw 6369 total registrations down from 7368 in 2015 - a drop of 13.56%
May 2016 saw 3495 down from 3968 - a drop of 11.92%
June 2016 saw 3827 down from 4444 - a drop of 13.88%

Considering they just launched a new model and many put off ordering a t5 to wait ( like me ) for a t6 to see lower sales figures must be quite shocking, and no wonder if punters are having to wait so long- I personally know two people who went elsewhere due to the timescales ( Transit custom )

Nearly every other make has seem sales figures rise- VW is the stand out one- way lower than any others ( apart from Land rover as they stopped production )

Perhaps the emissions scandal is having a bigger effect than first thought, the Commercial side of VW is being separated off and will in the future be run as a complete separate company .

Well @mark you seem to have the facts to hand there. Just going on what my dealer is saying and what i see going out. there doing well with there sales. they must be on there own then as the figures you show are poor, its not suprising with what you say and what some of us are experiencing .
