T6 Side Door…..help please

Hi T6 Experts….

Def need your advice here…

So, thought I’d get a few little jobs done today, one of which was lubricating the side door as it’s been sounding a bit dry (there’s someone laughing at this point)

I’ve used a dry ptfe spray and sprayed the rails top and bottom, hinges etc but I’ve noticed that the wheel roller wheel doesn’t turn in the slides, however it does when I manually spin it.

Is this my error or will it sort itself out?

Tbf, think I used to much spray, the top of the door almost bounced along now.

Help…..I’m such a moron

I’m no expert but would suggest trying to clean the lubricant off the sliding rail and roller surface. Lubricate the rotating and latching parts but not the rolling parts. The latter would be like trying to drive a rotating wheel on oil and will just cause flat spots on the sliding roller.

If it’s the bottom roller you are on about then just replace it. Mine was dragging and I tried lubricating it and it worked for a little while but then the bearing collapsed and luckily it didn’t cause any damage when the door dropped.
For £17 off eBay and about 30 minutes of your time it’s a no brainer.
