T6 T32 4motion Poor Performance

I'm not sure if this is the best place for this question but here goes?! I have a T6 T32 4motion 2016 140 manual, it need to go back to the garage for some minor works and whilst they lent me a 2018 150 kombi to run around in. The performance of the 150 was amazing in comparison to my 140. So much so I ask the garage to check out my van. They stated they couldnt find any issues but when they test drove it they agreed it was definately lacking they also note my MPG was not great either <30. They stated it maybe due to it not having broken in yet (only 4000miles) they also added some jet cleaner. But generally they had no idea as to what the issue maybe.

Anyone here help...

As you've said it's possibly due to the engine not been run in yet, 4000 is still young miles on that engine. MPG is often reported lowish during the break in period.
Worth noting the 140 is a euro 5 and the 150 is a euro 6. Reports generally lean towards the euro 6 being a better and smoother engine.

I have a 140 lone kombi (2WD) while i was waiting for mine to be built. I was not overly unpressed with its performance TBH but when my E6 150 arrived i notice the extra performance instantly. it is so much better IMO. Maybe worth having it mapped if your not happy with the performance.

Sounds like my E5 140 t32 Lwb Kombi . Quite sluggish but it is a heavy van .its done 30k though.
I also had courtesy van , E6 , it went like a rocket in comparison.
Empty panel van so no surprise.

I average 30mpg

Re map on the cards for me but I’m in no rush to do it yet .

Has your van got 20" rims on it @bigbloke ? Did the other van had standard 17" or 16" rims. If so this could account for the sluggish performance of your van. The bigger the rims and unsprung weight will effect the acceleration.

I have driven both (own a T32 140) and there is a noticeable difference between them

Tbf my euro 150 is nippy !!! I’ve had a 300 Bhp s3 8v, and after that was stolen a 184 Quattro stronic a3... and the van holds its own!!

Thanks for the help. The Van is on 275/40/20's so this sounds like it wont help the performance (does look much better though :) ).
Sounds like a remap is required. Talking to a garage they tell me nearly all remaps come from the same place and use the kess alientech system! Is this true?
Also looks like average cost £300. Is it any better if you spend more?!

This thread has some info. Remap ..... Just Can’t Decide On Which One

Custom map is always better

My 150 dsg goes like sh*t of a shovel. I drove a 140 Euro 5 before i bought it. There’s def a difference.

I have both EU5 140 DSG (swb) and a EU6 150 (LWB) there is a great difference between the two. Although the 150 will be slightly heavier it has quicker acceleration from stand still and mid range pulling away. I would not have thought there was only 10bhp between them!
