T6/T6.1 Sequential LED tail lamps "retrofit"

I am not familiar with his wiring I am afraid.
Have you got wiring diagram or instructions?
As far as I know it's the same wiring that I was using, and have since moved away from

You mean door lock contact switch?
Has he verified minimum voltage for his lights?

Jeez I wish they did a dummies guide for all of non sparky types out there who want to do this mod..

I haven't measured interior lights voltage,
maybe @mmi have.
Here you go...

From top to bottom:
  1. Full span 2 seconds - PWM sweeps 0...100% in 1.34 seconds (starts here at 0.322 sec, reaches 100% at 1.663 seconds)
  2. Startup - depicted 0.2 seconds (timeline 0.3...0.5 s)
  3. A sample from 1.0 - 1.2 seconds
  4. Reaches 100% DC 12 Volts, - depicted timeline 1.5 - 1.7 seconds
Measured across the "LOAD" thus effectively depicted only the PWM of Switched negative.

Love this @mmi - great PWM data.

what did you use to capture?

A new toy - pretty impressive capabilities nowadays... even at reasonable price ;)

PS. Added yet another level of spoilers.
wow - a proper decent scope - im very jealous of your new toy.

have fun with it. :mexican wave:

Sadly, I can report that this mod is nigh on impossible on the T6.1 LED rear clusters. There is no easy access inside. I have a spare cluster that I’ve been experimenting on. The only easy way inside would be to cut the lens off but there would be little hope of re attaching it so it looked OEM. It’s not one flat PCB inside with all the LEDs on

I am lazy and I have simply purchased a pair of tail lamps with all the bells and whistles included.
It is an aftermarket product but the quality is seriously good.

They look exactly like OEM but there is slight difference in their functionality (apart from the obvious animations).
The OEM ones illuminate only 3 areas(shown below) when the brake light is on without the side lights.

And these illuminate all 4.

The side light and indicator animation/sequence can be activated/deactivated by connecting/disconnecting external jumper wire.

Additionally all tail lights are equipped with a provision to connect resistor(each lamp come with 3 of them already installed externally).
These resistors can be added as required by simply plugging in provided connector.
I had to use only one of these resistors(indicator).

And finally the lamps come with 2 sets of connecting adaptors so all combinations of plugs and pining are covered and the whole installation process is literally PLUG & PLAY.

Yes, I got them from the same seller.

I paid $302.75 ≈ £239 ≈ €287

After the purchase the seller offer me the option to pay extra
$69.63 ≈ £55 ≈ €66 to cover VAT and duties.
I refused and effectively had to pay extra
€19 ≈ £16 on delivery.

Overall total of €306 ≈ £255

Visiting this site regularly costs me a fortune.... First the digital dash... now these....

Ok, so I've mounted. Previously had version with dynamic indicator but it required extra boxes with led controllers outside. New version has it built in, only has longer cable. Fitting is not as good as previous version but still acceptable and it has brighter indicator leds :)
