Not sure if mentioning FB on here is swearing but just my thoughts

Having ventured here first I have monitored the FB version and unless it’s me, there is a significant difference!!

There is no such thing as a bad question however there is a lazy question. Most people on here will look before asking and if asking they usually get pointed towards a previous thread an encouraged to read up.

The FB version seems to get questions from people who just can’t be arsed and just ask (not all I will add but a lot). An example - the response was perfect!!

The Facebook format isn’t conducive to threaded discussions. I run a FB group & trying to collate information into a format that can be searched in the future is a PITA. The forum format is much easier in that respect. FB is more “of the moment”. FB is easier to use & requires less thought & so seems to attract a certain demographic

It’s also full of armchair warriors who revel in taking the absolute mickey out of others.

But it does beggar belief as to why people bother with it when they could join this forum.

I'm in a Facebook group for another vehicle (in fact I keep a special acct just for this with no "friends" so I don't have to wade through the sort of meaningful sh*t that people seem to feel the need to share) and it's so difficult to even keep up with your own posts let alone others, and it's the same questions multiple times a day. Vastly prefer forums and wouldn't go near FB if I didn't have to. Saying that, even among forums this one is by far the best, they're not all anywhere near as good as this.

Yip. Have to agree. This forum is a credit to @Pauly, the folk that moderate or admin to help him out and in general, its members. A wealth of knowledge from very helpful people. It's rare you see things going south in discussion and if it does, it seems to get sorted swiftish by those with the appropriate buttons. Its a proper sanctuary of civilised discussion. I actually find it a nice chill out zone, free from the plethora of interweb instagoogletweetface nastiness. Well done T6 forum.
