If I am running 275/35/20 what tyres profile should I look at putting on a set of 17” steels. I want to band them too

Would 8.5 front and 10.5 rear sound right?
I’d check if the 10.5 will fit first With the offset after banding. I know for a fact that a 10 Amarok won’t go on the rear of mine with the offset.. actually that’s a lie it does go but I can’t air out and it looks stupid IMO

I say this all the time to friends that ask about wheels that will fit to their car/van...

It's not 'just' the size and width that matters.

It's the OFFEST that really matters.

I've got 10J ET40 on the back of mine with 245/40/19 and no issues with doorcard.

I've got a kiravans storage card now.
No issues with ply panel either.

That’s exactly what I was getting at. Offset is what matters.
I run a 10.5 offset 43 with no issues but if OP wants to start creeping down the lower end you’ll get problems. Especially with banded wheels.

I sound like a right party pooper but I’ve been there like many others with wheels and tyres that do not work.

@blkbzl72 why don’t you go 8.5 9.5 and just spacer the back out as much as you want. at least you’ll have the option to revert back to a 9.5 if it doesn’t work. Just a idea

I think with the 17" GPs, most you will see are 9" and 9.5" and even at that they look lovely and deep. I know that's Duchy's general sizes on the 17s.

Offsets on Banded steels is normally pretty easy to work out on the basis that the face of the wheel doesn't change position, its the bands that are added to the outer face to give the deep looks, and all the banding guys I know of, always band in half inch increments.

It's only the 19" RRs that have the banding both sides of the face because they start off life as a space saver.

@Tourershine I’ve spoken to Jaime previously and he is doing me 2 at 9.25 in the two tone. Not sure if it’s a thing he does all the time but he said he would. Just waiting to pull the trigger but me tyres are still chunky on the rear and stopping my air out after they were Hunter aligned and powerflex bushes adjusted  camber issues.

The RRs are fairly easy to measure offset with a straight edge and tape measure. It’s easier with tyres off though.

Interestingly, my front 9.5s poke out a tad more than the rear 10s
