Team Leisuredrive

This is ours, had it 18 months and very happy with it. Lovely van to drive. Based on a Startline so we miss the Air Con (remember the Summer?). Just arranged for a Diesel heater to be fitted so should be able to use for a longer season this year. I have fitted Solar and Victron Battery Monitor and Solar Controller. This years upgrade will likely be a Lithium battery set up. All in all a quality conversion.

Welcome to the Team!

Lovely looking van. You won't regret getting the heater, it transforms winter use!

First long trip on vivanti conversion and leisure battery does s not seam to be getting charged by alternator ,on way up to Arran (fitted a victron shunt) all seemed ok battery was getting 14.8v charge , but on normal driving starter/alternator are only putting out 12v and split charger is not kicking in to charge leisure battery that is on its way down .is this the down side of having a split charger relay . Tried putting lights on and heated screen but alternator stays at 12v. Any advice welcome. Shaun.

Very pleased to discover this thread. We bought our 2017 Vivante (converted 2020) about 12 months ago, and I have been trying to find solutions to some of the more annoying aspects. Overall I absolutely love it - coming from a California the layout is so useable, and the hi-top is amazing. A few minor adjustments made to ours, in no particular order...

1) Swapped the Aux sockets to include USB-C PD, and a cover so that the light can be covered up at night.

2) Replaced the annoying and not-blackout curtains with combo blind-and-flyscreen units (eBay special). Have also done the window above the kitchen. Much more effective, less annoying, and with the added benefit of the flyscreen too. Can't do sliding door or tailgate because there isn't enough clearance, and Vanshades are too expensive!

3) Replaced the humungous original water 'tank' with a smaller one, and tethered it to the side of the cupboard.

4) Added a bit of visual interest to the worktop opposite the sink.

5) Replaced the faulty bog-standard original smoke alarm with a new colour-coded one.

6) Had to re-fit the skylight when it developed a leak, and in the process discovered the 12V feed installed by LeisureDrive. This means I can - in theory - install the optional powered fan to keep things a bit more civilised when I have a lot of wet kit or it's really hot. Only issue is that the wires, which are supposed to be powered off the Aux circuit, are dead. The investigation continues!

Welcome to the Team!

It's funny how we all do it differently, we're going the opposite way with water and increasing capacity!

While I am here, does anyone know how to get at the flush pump on a Vivante's Thetford khazi?

Ours is stuck and blowing the fuse, think there may be a bit of debris blocking it.

I think the panel with the button levers off? Sure I found a YouTube video.

Mine was ice, I hadn't drained it, but didn't actually need to access the pump in the end.

Hi Lummy,

Not a problem!

As i said, we set it up as a double bed - basically because the single bed arrangrmrnt feels too narrow for me (I'm 6'8" so not the slimmest - which is why we didnt go down the rock n roll bed route...) and i wanted something else there when i turn over.

Not used the toppers yet, but fingers crossed!
Update

A definate improvement over the Argos toppers we we using. Only real issue is the size of the toppers when rolled up. But that aside, hapoy with them

Have you seen this:

"Question

I want to change the flushing pump on my Thetford C400 Cassette Toilet, Can you tell me where to find it and how to remove it, regards John

Answer

The pump is situated underneath the printed circuit board. The flushing lever will pull off. Underneath there is a screw which secures the printed circuit board. Remove this and the remove the back box. You can then access the pump.
You will need to cut the wiring to remove the pump. The new pump is supplied complete with terminals and heat-shrink sleeving to waterproof the joint."

There looks to be a few YouTube videos as well.

Thank you for all your help, I looked up the you tube video last night and have just tackled the job.
As you said the lever and panel come off easily but getting the motor up from its place is awkward, the fluid pipe it's attached to is very rigid. Still it came out after a struggle and I freed it up by spinning the impeller manually with a pointy thing on my penknife. Put a new fuse in the socket and pressed the button. The motor started running so I set about returning it to its location down the bottom of the tank.
At this point the fluid pipe came off the pump.
So I then spent a good 30 minutes wrestling with the pipe and pump before I achieved the result of having both the pipe attached and the pump down in its place.
Hopefully it will still be working next time we need it!

Before I realised it was ice blocking ours, and before I found the fuse, we just used a spray bottle of the diluted pink stuff.
