Team Reflex Silver

Updated picture of mine, fitted a new set of banded steelies with some new rubber the other day, given a good clean today and I’ve also removed the sportline carbon mirror things, I bought a new set but don’t like the carbon patter so I’ve just cleaned the mirrors up and left them be for now!

As much as a swamper makes sense on uk roads and it rides nice on standard suspension and I’ve not worried about potholes or kerbing the wheels I just think it looked better low with nice big alloys:rolleyes:
Yes and that's my Dilemma.. So stayed low lol

Just don't get the same feeling on look backs.. Lol

I was on -55mm cobra springs before going back to standard springs with the Swamper wheels so am wondering if a lot of the harshness when lowered was down to these lowering springs and if I go for coil overs this time the ride might be better ?

I went from H&R springs to SoLows, the H&R’s were a terrible ride, and SoLows as max height like I am sat at are really comfy, I’ve had cars lowered in springs in the past and gone to coil overs and it’s always been the same result! Get some SoLows on order ;)

Thanks thats helpful - never been in a transporter on coilovers so have cobra springs and standard springs as my only reference.
I must admit the cobra springs were the cheapest ones - approx half the price of the h&r so to be expected. Just before they were removed they were coil bound (all the middle coils were touching each other) so not sure they were doing much springoing anyway

Stance+ coilovers for the money I can't moan about them.. Don't get no issues and I'm only using half of them..
FWIW I went down the Stance+ Ultra route and regretted it. I had them changed out for KW coilovers and the ride is a lot quieter and more comfortable. Yes, you still know when you hit a pothole or a speed bump, but it isn’t anywhere near as severe as the Stance+ were.

I know Stance+ do a Street and a Pro version, but I can’t comment on them. What are you running @Baz..SVT?

The Stance+ were £600 odd whilst the KW were £900 odd FYI.

I went from the Gaz ultra lows (shit) never again so many problems £1000 to stance + streets £280 like said I'm actually not that low, yes I get a bit of road noise between them and the tyres but for the money not issues find them comfortable on 245 40s..

I’d have probably not been as upset if I’d have bought the Street version, but hoped the dearer Ultra’s (with their monotube design) would have been great.

I got scared buying £1000+ coilovers because of the ultra lows.. So went cheap I'll give venom motorsports there do... For 280 I'm well happy with them for the money..

I’ve de-swamperised my van.

Let me explain - it was lowered and had big alloys, then I decided I wanted to go down the Swamper route, so had standard suspension refitted, sold alloys and bought some steel wheels and BFG tyres, fitted a nudge bar, light bar and bonnet defelector.

But I just didn’t enjoy the look - yes it drove better, but I never looked back at it after parking up like I did when it was lowered with a nice set of alloy wheels. Oh how I wish I hadn’t sold the Amarok Canteras

Not sure if it’s the colour? Silver should be clean, shiny, with nice clean and shiny wheels - not all boggin with dirt.

So, I’ve put the standard Claytons back on and am selling the Swamper wheels/tyres (already sold the nudge bar) and it will be ‘standard’ for a few weeks while I research coilovers (had cobra -55mm springs on before and they were harsh and choppy) so want the best ride quality I can get (afford) and decide what wheels to get next. Might even go for a sportline front end this time too.

Yes - I am a lunatic

Welcome back to being wide and low.. I agree when I look at other members swamper vans they look the nuts.. Up high smooth ride not worrying about curbs potholes + the stuff you can get for them is awesome... But it's not the same is it.. A transporter just looks wider and beautiful when looking back at it.. And if you don't look back its time for a change...
