Sorted the lights... dafty over here left the metal plate out on the rear when tightening back up the ARBs. .... but the knocking is still there. Garage friday me thinks

I had knocking on both sides on the rear. Mine is a MY18 and they have little knobbles inside where the damper fixes onto the chassis. The damper rubber has metal insert and the two made a knocking noise on mine. Took 3 visits to well known specialist to sort it. This was 1 year ago. Bilstein supplied an updated top rubber mount that made no difference ! We also ground off the knobbles inside the mount, rust proofed and its been silent ever since. Just a thought.

Adjusters are at the top... not bottom... and I’ll look into it !

Sorry I am talking about where the damper fits into the chassis not the spring. The later vans have a different profile inside the fixing point where the bolt goes through the chassis/top of damper. If you have an earlier set of billies and your van is newer. This time last year was the crossover point i belive. Bilstein told my installer this and a new revised rubber/alloy shim was pressed into the damper. Sounds very much like the issue.

Mines a 17plate kombi... and the bilstein kit, it says on the springs 2016??? So I can only presume this may be it... surely others have had this problem then???

Mines a T32 17 plate July registered first of the MY18 Just a thought. It took weeks to sort it as all the bolts were tight !

No just another challenge in our eternal journey to waste as much money and time on our vans.
It would be boring if every thing went to plan.
Just another area to look at if you are unsuccesful sorting the knock.

And unfortunately for me I have £0 to my name, hence doing it myself, otherwise I’d not have thought twice

Jobs sorted... my mistake, left the top bolt on the shock rear drivers “loose” (just wasn’t tight) as I tightened it, then couldn’t move shock to locate at the bottom, so I loosened it off and in the rush and darkness never tightened it back HENCE the knocking. So simple fix that cost nothing.

Here’s some pics next to a T5 with 20s 275/55/20 tyres on lowering springs (not sure what mm)

Lowered all the way down at the back, 15mm up at the front.

I have a set of b14s sat in the garage there being fitted on my new Kombi when it comes,,in a few months.
bought the b14s in jan 18,
I’m hoping I’m not going to have any problems but after reading this thread I’m thinking the b14s might need new rear top damper bushes ???? and the led headlights might need resetting too????
..it’s not sounding good up to now I can fit coil overs no problem, but I’m not going to find out if the rear shocks will fit until it’s on axle stands z
also I’m rubbish on computers so sounds like the headlights are going to be out of plonk????
Can someone tell me differently
