The complex World Of Physics is a wonderful place that has me amazed on a daily basis. . . .
Why is the sky blue?
Why is water clear?
What is fire?
How does the internet work?
Now days all you need to do is search Google or watch a YouTube video to gain the Knowledge of the Gods and become an Armchair knowledge warrior . . . .
But there are some things that you just have to see for your self . . . . . I've often wondered what it would be like to see Radio-waves or see Gravity, or even see inside a microchip and watch the electrons flying about.
This brings me back the Radio thing, we can hear radio, but cant see it. We can see light, but not electricity. . . . . it turns out that all these things are part of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Its been discovered that as Humans we can tune-in to a lot of this spectrum, and that we do . . on a daily basis. We hear sound, we see light, we feel heat & cold, we smell . . . . . . ok ok so smell is not part of the spectrum but all the same. . . . . this is a About Thermodynamics.
Remember that Film Preditor, where you could see mad Alien vision . . . . . i though that was amazing.
Moving forward 20 years we can now get gadgets to allow us to see alien vision too...
Taking advantage of some Black Friday deals i have finally managed to bag myself a bit of kit I've wanted for the last 20yrs . . . . but could never afford. -- Real Alien Vision, thanks to a new FLIR ONE PRO thermal camera.
So whats all this got to do with T6F? . . . . . . well lets see.
So new toy, first thing to do is take a pic of the Dog right !
next this is a pic of a mirror reflection . . . . .
ok . . . . hows about the Wifi router . . . ?
and PC . . . ?
right, enough messing about . . . . . . . over to van >>>>>>>>>>
First off, the cold van . . . . . its supprising how as we see reflections . . . . heat or thermal energy is reflected too . . .
this is the cold windscreen from outside, the yellow at the bottom is the reflecdtion from the house in the glass !
this is from inside with the heated screen on . . . .
here you can clearly see the gap between the left & right side heating elements:
ok, so what about the heated side mirrors . . . . .

here is a cold wheel . . . . the yellow is actually my reflection on the shinney break disc !!

Now for some more interewsting bits . . . . what about the wheel after a drive . . . .
and the breaks . . . .
and tyres . . . .
.
what about the engine bay . . . . . . ?
looks like the hottest part is the Turbo . . . . . .
back box . . . . . . . . ?
so there we have it Alien Vision . . . . . . . and the ability to see heat, thermal energy, infrared radiation.
Now appart from just being a toy there are legitimate technical uses for these cameras in the automotive diagnostic world, as well as building control and engineering.
But for the meantime lets have some fun. . . . . .
