Top tip for running cable

I use this thin bendy rod thing to thread cable (this time for my roof mounted light bar) so I don't have to pull so much of the van apart.
I've no idea if this is normal behaviour, but there you have it!

It's new to me, just a brain wave but of course everything's been done before..

I find the best way is to do it backwards, poke the rod through from where you want the cable to end up, and see where it appears!

Luckily I didn't plaster van
 
Any bright ideas where to route the cables into the engine bay?
I was thinking to just drill and grommet that plate behind the battery. Probs with plenty of gooey stuff too

When you have an ex RAC van, it's a restoration project as well as a camper conversion!

Also if you need to run a shortish distance a long plastic cable tie will work well. In the past I've used plastic pallet strapping as well.
