Top tip for running cable

I use this thin bendy rod thing to thread cable (this time for my roof mounted light bar) so I don't have to pull so much of the van apart.
I've no idea if this is normal behaviour, but there you have it!

Yeah, common way of doing it. You can get the rods from Screwfix etc or more flexible ones that are used on bikes with internal cable routing (a mechanics nightmare!).

It's new to me, just a brain wave but of course everything's been done before..

I find the best way is to do it backwards, poke the rod through from where you want the cable to end up, and see where it appears!

Luckily I didn't plaster van

Any bright ideas where to route the cables into the engine bay?
I was thinking to just drill and grommet that plate behind the battery. Probs with plenty of gooey stuff too

Engine bay cable route through bulkhead/firewall to cabin

I'm looking to run a cable from the main battery into the cabin. Anyone know if there is an easy route through, maybe using an existing path, or do I have to think about drilling a new hole in the engine bay bulkhead (gulp). Any advice much appreciated.

The cables are run where I want them, they'll terminate here around the battery

With an extra spare for when I get around to fitting a traction control off switch

When you have an ex RAC van, it's a restoration project as well as a camper conversion!

Also if you need to run a shortish distance a long plastic cable tie will work well. In the past I've used plastic pallet strapping as well.
