Transporter HQ Full LED headlights - errors on dash

Evening!

I have just installed the new full LED headlights from THQ along with their gloss black lower and upper (badged) grille.

All working as they should however I now have two lights on the dash - orange coil and orange engine management light. Also ACC has been deactivated.

Could anyone help me please - I have also just emailed THQ

Many thanks

Max

Sounds like a coincidence as i can't see your lights would have nothing to do with engine faults. Have you got a Carista or any other fault code reader ?

Bit far for me lol.....maybe someone more local can help with a code reader or its worth getting yourself a Crista off Amazon. As i said though i can't see how it would be related to the light change though.

Which fuse did you piggy back off can you take a photo?

I think it’s in SB19 which is air mass module - do I need to insert the fuse I removed in to the piggyback carrier next to the one provided by THQ?

Yes you do. New fuse takes care of the headlight feed, original fuse is still required to complete/protect the circuit for the original equipment.

Been reading these threads on the THQ full LED for the T6.1 with interest and deffo on my list within the next few months. One question though with regards to the Fuse piggy back from the engine fuse box. Do I ‘have’ to piggy back off the 5 A in there as per the installation guidance, or (which I’d rather do), can I utilise a spare way in the Main Fuse board in the lower dash by the steering wheel, which is only ‘On’ when ignition is on. The reason I ask is I managed to insert a couple of genuine VW blade fuse pins, with trailing leads attached, into the outgoing ways on the fuse board when I had the cabin stripped down for dash cam and amplifier install. ( it was a pig of a job BTW, but worth it for future use). I know there’s nothing ‘wrong’ with piggy backs per se , but… I just feel that using a dedicated fuse way is the ‘correct’ engineering solution. (Comes from my electrical background and engineering OCD‍). Appreciate I’ve then got to run the cable through the bulkhead to the THQ wiring connector but that’s no hassle as I know where all the grommets are and (again when I did the amp and dash cam) I have installed a pull through from engine bay to cab which will assist greatly.
Just want to make sure I’m not missing something from those who know the T6.1 systems better than I.
Thanks in advance.

You can use any ignition live supply, it doesn’t have to be the engine bay fuse box, what you’re suggesting is fine.
