Does anyone, who fit the Transporter HQ lights, have what appear to be 2 beams of light. Like a couple of torches rather than a spread of light.

I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve done something wrong when fitting the bulbs....

The night use images on THQ site look very impressive. I guess you're looking for a customer image to compare against?

Yeah. Looking for some sort of comparison. Mine don’t look right at all. Hardly any spread, just a beam of light.

Silly suggestion but are the lamps in correctly? A lamp not sat in the holder correctly won't be directing light at the reflectors correctly and thus displaying the wrong light pattern.

Not a silly question @Ed Webb. It’s a distinct possibility. Just been out to take some pictures. What do you think? I don’t think they’re illuminating as they should

It's certainly I weird pattern. Sadly I couldn't diagnose the illfitting lamp from the photo but I quick look in daylight may shed some light on that theory.
And yes pun intended :)

That left side looks crooked, you should have two nice lines (1 per side) at the top of the emitted light. Mine aren't axactly what you have but they still don't seem right. You should be able to look at the bulb from the front of the light, and make sure the two little half moon guides are sitting in the slots properly.

Thank you @ZipcodeUK and @Ed Webb. I’ll have a look in the morning and see if I’ve aligned them incorrectly. Good news is I can realign without taking them out again.

Hi @T6Paul

Any chance of a picture of your light spread when it gets dark. I’m convinced after looking at mine that I’ve put the bulbs in wonky....

And on full beam (h1 only) I've not yet done the fix to have both main and dipped at once!

Thank you @T6Paul
It’s clear mine should be better and it’s something I’ve done. I’ll give the bulbs a tweak and see if I’ve not sat them correctly. (Most likely).

Thanks again bud.

They look more like my transit custom with the projector units . They had good light in the middle but not much to the sides . They won't be any good for me driving through the new forest every day. I put a HID kit in the ford and they worked really well but I kept getting bulb failure warnings . If this could be turned off on the T6 they should work ok and give the same light as the VW LEDs . I still have the kit for h7 in the garage so if the warning could be turned off would be tempted to get a set .
How much room do you have behind with the units in place is it the same as the standard H4

As of May this year, aftermarket HID and LED kits are a major fail at MoT time (not a problem for T6 owners yet). Although you might be able to hide the bulb, ballast and coder so that the tester can't see them, as soon as the tester sees the start up arc flash when the lights are turned on, it is obvious a HID is in there. I guess some people will just use halogens for one day a year!

I might have to read the draft again, but that might only apply to the dipped beam.

I preordered a set of these and have been running them for a few weeks now. They were from THQ and i had many of the same questions that are on this thread as well as some other ones. I have a T6 T32 Euro 5 Kombi and the lights were 100% plug and play with no errors form day one.

The light output from them is much improved over the H4 and yes the low beam goes off with high beam on. I have just driven across Europe and the lights performed faultlessly for the week even with those silly stickers you have to use being on the opposite side of the road.

The fit of the lights is good, i cant say excellent as there is a slightly smaller gap on one side but this could just be my lack of patience / skill at working on cars and its not noticable unless you stare at it for a few hours and get some measuring callipers out :)

THQ have been ver helpful with me and the service has been excellent from them so just want to say thanks THQ for you explanations and patience with me :)

The picture is of my H4's (top) and the THQ lights (bottom) in same location both on low beam. Its a bit blurred but you get the idea :) The THQ lights have a beam that goes further and is brighter in all driving conditions IMOH.
