Had a pair of H 7’s delivered this week, tomorrow’s job to change them over, quite looking forward to doing it.
Let me know how you get on, not great at stuff like that, but I did manage to change my rear lights for LEDs.

Hey THQ !

I'm still in love with your headlights :)
Any news about that Loom ?

I thing some have activated that through VCDS, but I can't find the detailed info how to.
Can someone point me the right direction ?

thanks .
I noticed this didn't have a reply and having just bought a set from THQ, see they provide a couple of choices. Those are - supplied with extra 100W bulbs and no harness, or 55W bulbs and the harness for dipped and mains on high beam. I can do the coding so didn't need the harness.

As they came with the additional 100W bulbs I decided to do some tests for my own curiosity as I reckon the vehicle harness wires are 18AWG at best. Performing voltage drop tests on the wiring harness, it is a 0.45V drop on the feed wire for a single 100w bulb so running two 100w bulbs through the same harness feed really is not an option and THQ state it actually causes a flicker and confirm too much current draw.

Running the dipped/main additional harness with standard 55w bulbs would obviously put 110w through the same harness feed so expect a larger voltage drop than my 0.45V result above.

When running standard bulbs through the intended circuits the voltage drop on the feed wire is a much healthier 0.3V so I'm running 55W bulbs in both circuits which is probably what the vehicle's harness was designed for.

On the note of wiring, it's good to see that these lights now come with flexible conduit keeping things much neater on the back. Still no harm adding some tesa tape for the finishing touch though.

Thanks @Ed Webb

Daft question number 2 - can I remove my H4s, install the THQ lights and add the HID kit mentioned by @amv above without any extra coding involved? Would using those HIDs cause issues with the wiring as mentioned by @Mooncat above?

Got a tax rebate from HMRC so headlights might be the way it gets spanked

Would it not be easier to install H4 LED bulbs ? That way you wouldn’t need to install headlamp washers (but with either option, you may still fall foul of the new MOT rules due to you not having an auto-leveller fitted).

Hmm. More reading required me thinks. I really want OEM LEDs. Wish you could buy a kit for that with all the bits and a how to
