TVS DSG remap.

Hi guys, I have T6 Multivan 2.0BiTDI (204hp). All I need and want is probably TVS drivability upgrade to polish a bit the horrible software for VW DQ500 DSG :/ What I want from it is:
1. remove "latency" while starting van from 0. Between accelerator pedal push and van rolling is horrible "lag", I read that this will fix that
2. strange clutch noise on 2nd/3rd gear
3. not to change D into S
The rest is +/- quite good, so I would like to keep it as is. The bit higher rpms are ok to me too.

Could you confirm that it will work +/- like described above? Could anyone tell from time perspective if there are any disadvantages of doing that

Bognor Motors TVS + REVO remap

Have a read of these posts.... I have an 18 Plate 204 4 motion. The best money I spent on my van was the Remap on the DSG box... @BognorMotors

Hi all…….Had my van (204 T32 ) done with the TVS ( Drivability map) a while back …still loving it….But I’ve got a Q to ask…..

I tow a small trailer using D but I’ve read that you can use S mode for trailers ..Which is better and why

Thanks in advance :)
It can labour the engine using D mode so using S raises the RPM. However, if you have the TVS map, S no longer works with ACC engaged so will instead labour the engine in D.

Ok, I did it yesterday - have TVS drivability  For now I see changes definitely, but review will be after time. Nice thing is (I didn't knew this before and couldn't find also on forum) there is 1yr "maintenance time" during which I can ask for changes/adaptation (i.e. gear shift change too soon/late, etc) and they will do this "for free".

Is this if you go to TVS direct?

Bognor motors do not do this, if you don't like it it you are stuck with it as I found out. It was an expensive mistake.

TBH I don't know. The guys at ECUProject knows some guys at TVS directly from what I know. But I think it's general politics at TVS. From what I know support is quite well and on their site they have support where you can read two interesting parts:

So I would recommend to contact with them. In corner case - they claim will revert software and refund...

I made over 5k km with new DSG soft so I owe a small review here, I think:

  1. one and only reason for me to do DSG remap was the acceleration pedal lag, which I think in this DQ500 VW soft is just a "bad joke". What more, it is so dangerous that I believe it shouldn't be allowed - it may really lead to disaster on the road. The rest - as I thought - was OK to me and had no other improvements in my head. It turned out that I was veeeery wrong :D

  2. I felt difference from the first moment. Indeed, the lag is smaller HOWEVER - it is still there. Maybe it is not the lag itself but the way how the gearbox reacts to the acceleration - you can start earlier but cannot accelerate as fast as it should be allowed (or would be possible in manual). The key to drive it better is to use very light pressure on acceleration pedal. This way it acts a bit more like "reactive"... so still it's better but not perfect. I think this cannot be done better and everything was done in this are to minimize this shitty lag, but for the guys who consider this like me - it won't be perfect. What more, sometimes have impression that this tweak does not work - especially when I forget and use too much acceleration or I'm using my car after my wife. So sth to consider, it is fixed in 95% cases and in not ideal way (you cannot "start" from the kick like in manual/other DSG gears).

  3. As mentioned - I thought there is nothing more to improve than this lag. But I was totally wrong... Several things are done far better in this soft, i.e.:
    • gear upshifting levels were changed, now it's more accurate to the speed. I'm using only D and totally stopped using S - it's done imho in perfect way because you won't notice that sth is NOK. Original soft is trying to shift to the highest possible gear too soon imho
    • downshifting - this is the most visible and best improvement. When you take off the leg from acceleration pedal you feel more like in manual. Gear is not immediately downshifted but it allows car to move still on the current. It is making big difference to the driving
    • kickdown is improved - no I have always enough power, fast and on demand
    • torque improved

This all above makes a huge general difference to drivability in comparison with previous software.
  4. As I had option to tweak it a bit (1yr guarantee) I was wondering what can could be done better and... I cannot find anything. I'm really impressed.
I was driving on hills in Croatia on holidays and spent some time on highways, city, roads of all kinds. Everywhere car reacted in far better way and I felt like I have more power than before. In fact this remap finally unblocked engine potential (original, 204hp). Even the lag is not perfectly fixed, the rest makes it so good that I would definitely recommend and would do this again.
Cheers!

Where did you get yours done as it sounds much better than mine and was this on a TDI?

HI,
as I wrote before - done in ECUProject (PL). However it does not matter - the soft is done by TVS directly based on the map copied from the VAN. Dealer has nothing to do with that. Process looks like this:

- dump current soft from gearbox
- send to TVS
- they "pimp it up" and send back
- upload new soft to gearbox.

Mine is Multivan TDI 2.0 BiTDI (204hp).
