If it’s not a silly question, why are you putting in an additional diesel tank?
Fair do’s but bearing in mind that a 2kw Webasto on full chat burns 0.24l/hr and that’s only on full, is it worth the hassle? I’m currently in the alps where it’s chucking down with snow & around -10C & The Webasto has gone into “tickover”. We worked out that the heater will burn around 12litres over 7 days camping in these conditions. That’s an hour in the morning & around 6 hours in the evening.I can run the heater off red diesel at 78p/litre rather than regular diesel at £1.27/litre
With a D2 running for 4 or 5 hours on a litre of diesel it will take awhile for you to recoup the cost of fitting a separate tank which, with one of the benefits of a diesel heater being not having to worry about an alternate fuel source, is it worth doing??I can run the heater off red diesel at 78p/litre rather than regular diesel at £1.27/litre
Ahh! Therein lies the rub. Yes you have to lift the tailgate to get to the secret hatch. Unfortunately I’ve got a stuck / faulty tailgate & can’t get it open(see my separate thread on the subject ) when I get back to Blighty & get the door tailgate open I’ll take as many photos as you like. Until then.........Salty, could you take a few pictures of your secret door setup for me please, from as many angles as you think I'd need to replicate it on another van.
Do you have to open the tailgate to open the secret door? Does it look like they have just cut the original cover or is there a bespoke inner piece? It looks like the hinge mounts are stuck on with PU adhesive, am I right? I'll PM you an email address.
All LPG installs on any vehicle come with solenoid controlled valves on tanks, and regulators, why would you need another one in the system ?Actually one more question for the list. Anyone fitted a 12v solenoid to isolate the gas?
8mm IN/OUT Valtek Solenoid Gas Valve
No reason this won't work but wondering where best to fit it. Does mean if the battery dies so does the gas mind.
They don’t. I bought my underslung lpg kit from Autogas (fitting kit for T6) and it doesn’t include a solenoid. I added this myselfAll LPG installs on any vehicle come with solenoid controlled valves on tanks, and regulators, why would you need another one in the system ?
Are you sure about that ???Oh dear, the days of tanks without solenoids should be long gone

Don’t worry, that is just what they say on the phone. Both @Fish and myself are running B14’s with underslung tanks by Propex. They said the exact same thing to me when I phoned them up. When I took it down to them they had a quick look then got on with it.Hello Fish!
I was about to book to have the LPG tanks fitted and they are telling me I cannot have it fitting if lowered less than 40mm.. I am running B14's.. Yours looks lower than 40mm.
Thanks
Dave
