Van arrived at Dealership wrongly built!

So which dealer will have a cheap window van for sale soon? Is it LWB or SWB? Just the job for a camper build! What is the full spec?

They said I may get it until mine is here & they’ll just put it in to the demo fleet. I won’t mention the dealer until it is resolved once sorted though.

T30 SWB 150 Manual Highline,
Should have been Kombi but a Window Van,
Bamboo Garden Green,
Unglazed Tailgate,
2+1 Rear Seating,
F&R LED Lights,
Electric Folding Mirrors,
Comfort Dash,
F+R Rev Sensors with Cam,
Heated Seats.

On another note anything else worth adding?

Your comment about having it at no cost to you until your correct one is delivered is what a number of folks have done with Californias when they have arrived wrongly specified. You will get some mileage out of the dealer's vehicle and maybe get past some of the worst of the winter weather.

What a pity it is a SWB, no use to me! But it will be to someone else, the only downside is the unglazed rear lid (& no wash wipe of course) but that's not insurmountable.

I'd have Discover media and cruise control but that's personal preference.

Hoping some of you have had the same experience. So New Van collection all set up for Saturday, Car going tomorrow & can’t get out of it, cheap train tickets booked for Saturday.
Phone rings at tea time, it’s the Van Centre...erm we have a little bad news van specced wrong. Its not minor either, I requested non sliding windows in a Kombi (it is specable) & it’s arrived with full length windows. They asked if I liked it but defo don’t want it so they’re going to have to re-order.
So few questions before I go in all guns blazing because they have been really good.
- Do they need to provide me with a replacement vehicle until mine arrives?
- Is the price increase going to affect me as it’s on finance?
- They said I could add some extras if there’s anything I’ve thought of. But surely that’s a change on my behalf & they could claim I’ve rejected the van so the price change does affect me.
I order non sliding side windows in my Kombi as was worried that it could be wrong on delivery as not seen many with full glass. Anyway went up yesterday and everything was correct to order Phew ! I would have rejected my van if it had come with anything not as ordered.

I'm sure I was told that the sliders come as standard, the salesperson has to unclick the box & they come as solid Windows
I ordered mine without sliders only because heard problems with drain holes blocking and difficult to fix. My van was delivered yesterday to vwvc and everything was good ! phew.

Just to add insult to injury, since the new updated price list. VW have removed the option to have non-sliding windows in a Kombi.

I like my sliding windows as like the look of the sliding panel and useful when sleeping in the van. Not had any issues as of yet with leakage. I have noticed that they rattle in certain positions when open though.

I do see the benefits & like the thought of having them. However its the horror stories of them leaking I hate & the hassle of getting them sorted that puts me off. Especially when you hear of people having to get their carpet removed because it’s soaked. I’m sure there’s loads of people out there that aren’t on the Forum that have had no issues.

I had sliders in my old T5.1. 4years old. Never had any leaks.

Oh wow I have gone for non- sliders and they look nice, only went for that option due to comments of here re leaks.

I opted out of sliders, a complete waste of time for me, and after so many problems on the T5, though I would give them a miss. So i put a sunroof in instead. Hope that doesn't leak:cautious:

How do you like the sunroof, was surprised to see this as a option , never seen a sunroof on a van any pics plz

Well, it's small, in fact very small. We opted for the black leather/black alcantara with the body colour dash panel, but the rest of the doors and dash are black also, so we thought it would lighten things just a little (day time only;)), as we always have the sunroof blind open. We use it in hot weather for venting while parked (dogs inside the van), and rear tail gate open, so we get a through flow of air, helped with the front windows cracked open; but I don't think we ever travel with it open.
No wind noise whilst travelling, and no leaks to date. Is it worth £500, to us it defiantly is; but to some people maybe not. But we do keep our vans a long time, to help get value out of our extras. I'll take a couple of pics tomorrow

Look forward to the pics , will be the first van I’ve ever seen with one .

Like the idea of it as you say to get airflow threw the van as I leave my dogs locked in a cage , with the rear fully opened

ditto

That looks not too bad , it looks like it’s quite wide over all , might have to add this to the ever growing wish list :)

Get them to add Adaptive Cruise Control. It's saved me numerous speeding tickets.

My panel van is ordered with a sunroof, and park heater, so guess it will have the same controls as yours. It's being built this week so hope to get it soon!
