Remote control inactive stops you from locking or unlocking the van with the buttons on the keyfob

You don't know what else was connected to that unit when this photo was taken. In most cases of this kind, centre LCD serves as a "display unit" for CAN gateway.

Since the Firmware is VW-Generic this feature is available in probably all T6 Speedos.
I looked into the Firmware of my 720920970S SW 1104 and found it too:.

So the Speedo can do it.
You now need to retrofit the correct ECU with Radar Sensor on the side for it to work.
And probably you need to do some stuff more ...
