Anyone know where I can get some amorak steels ? No one seems to have stock?? Cheers

Someone recommended an eBay seller JBW recently.. see here:

Guys,

Got to make a shout out for the people I just taken delivery of my new wheels and tyres from.
John Brown Wheels. ( JBW )

They have the steel 18" that look just like the Amarok steels but these are 8J, not 7.5 (And we all know half an inch makes all the difference!) ;) ET45 offset so fairly standard, so I'll see how they look before I look for any spacers.
£395 inc vat and delivery. I also asked about tyres they don't list on their website and they beat a local quote I had for Toyo Open Country tyres at £70 + vat each.
The wheels are already well painted and laquered so no need to have them coated. IMO, better than the standard imported Amarok steels which will need coating.

All balanced and with metal valves and caps.

They list these on eBay but not on their website, so for those wondering if the eBay seller is decent, Yes I dealt with them over the phone and a pallet turned up today making me a happy boy! :)
They do Silver and Black Pepper Pot and Smoothie style.

And no I'm not on commision but just thought I'd say, cos these are my "Iv'e got new wheels" wheels...

I'll stick some pics on over the weekend when they I've put them on...
Have a good weekend all.

Tamar, stitches and steels have no stock, haven’t tried duchy as from one of his posts he only has black and don’t want them banded, seen the jbw ones but I’ve read on here they’re not as good quality as the oem amorak ones.

Don't want them banded....what's wrong with you!!

Jamie (Duchy) has a nice set of bronze already banded waiting to go

No mate, I’ve just ordered some off tamar on back order, no idea how long they will take to come.

Has anyone got amoarok steels standard width fronts and banded the rears to like 8.5 or 9"
so stock front with wide rears

cheers

apart form looking fatter from the rear (or front) is there any other advantage to banding a set of wheels? The 18" steels look good but are sort of skinny cos theyre bigger than the 16's which look OK at 6.5...
just trying to understand the fascination for cutting a wheel up and re-welding it back together again.

Not sure from the above if you are assuming the 18's look skinny because they are also 6.5J? The 18's are 7.5J stock, so are actually wider than the 16's as well. Banding just allows you to get the fitment you prefer. For some people that is important, and for others less so, but ultimately it's just a matter of preference.
