VW Dealer did the dirty on me....

Heck, it's like a reverse auction !

Sales Manager, Marcus, (full name declined), has said they aren't obliged to honour anything but he would sell it at the original price plus VAT. Declined.

I'll let them stew until after New Year.

Think I will get my deposit back and go elsewhere...

Yep, walk away!
Agree with this......Doesn't sound like a company I would want to deal with. Imagine what they would be like if you had a warranty issue.
There are plenty of vans out there. The prices appear to be coming down a little bit from what I have seen so might even end up with something better for the same sort of money.
Keep looking, the right one will turn up.

Agree, but it doesn't change the fact that a VAT free van, as well as rare will carry a premium.

So, Saturday morning....a nice white 68 plate Edition PV with reasonable mileage comes up on Autotrader at £18495. No mention of VAT on the advert, unlike some of their other vans. Go on to Marshalls VW Loughton website to check, again no VAT mentioned.
Ring the dealer and put down a 500 quid deposit, thank you very much.
About 3 hrs later, they email saying they made a mistake and its VAT qualifying. I pull out as its now not such a good deal.

They've now got it up for 19k VAT !!
Sounds like you dodged a bullet not buying from them. I am having a nightmare with the Transporter I bought from this awful place.

They've not sold it yet. Still waiting for my 500 notes deposit to be refunded. Keep getting the ' it's with the finance dept' excuses....

In the meantime I'm closing in on a higher mileage T6 Edition 150 manual 69 plate in Indium Grey
how did this all end?
