VW Extended Warranty Mar 2021

stupot, it's very common, to the extent there is a tolerance, ie the tech can determine if the leak is at an acceptable level or at the stage where replacement is required - I'm wondering if that is the reason they are saying it's not a warranty claim at this point, maybe they think it isn't leaking enough.

I'm afraid I can't comment on the higher level leak, there's a number of things it could be, but none of them have been common issues in my workshop.

Thanks interceptor that’s really helpful. If it is that, in your view, is that claimable despite oil leaks being excluded? Again thanks for the steer on this.

As I said in an earlier post, I can find no evidence that oil leaks are specifically excluded, although I am prepared to be proved wrong, if somebody wants to post up documentary proof.

Front main seal/sump leaks are incredibly common and I've seen them successfully claimed dozens of times, at the very least I would be expecting a substantial goodwill contribution, failing 100% coverage.

My van turns 3 on 30/7. got it booked in for its eligibility check on the 28th. Hope I can get it sorted by the 31st. My luck will be I won't.
Took my van it today for the last service on my old plan and to have the all in one eligibility check to be told it takes VW 7 days to close my old plan and start the new plan so I’ve missed out on the 25% off and unfortunately the van will be 6 years old in a few weeks so wont be able to take advantage of any further discounts, that’s why the check is valid for 7 days.
You might have to wait until the next offer.

FFS how bad can VW Listers get with this warranty extension. I want to extend the warranty under their new plan for £40 pm. So I took it in last week for the pre inspection on the vehicle. couple of niggling issues (engine mount rubber split not covered but £114 for 30 minutes work) so i say ok book me in and extend the warranty. Can't extend online for some reason we’ll have to check with car plan. SILENCE.

I called in last Friday for an update. they are looking at it.

Call in this morning and they can’t extend cos the warranty does not run out until the 18th and it has to have an inspection 7 days before the warranty renewal! So last weeks check in now redundant and it has to go back in next week. Erm i’m in CZ next week with @czmate1999.

OK we will see if we can fit it in on Friday but that means I am in the EU when this needs to be renewed. But they have to speak to Car Plan to get this all done!

My risks now are:

1. The vehicle has no extended warranty whilst I am driving in the EU
2. My breakdown cover will run out at the same time
3. i don't trust thèm to get this sorted.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

They just called me back. The reason it’s all gone tits is I changed to a personalised plate 2 years ago, they never changed the warranty to the new number even though I contacted them and told them I still have a free servcie available, I have to use it even though one isn’t due. So on Friday it’s in for a full servcie with no cost and the engine mount sorted. :uh run::uh run:

I just back from France to find a letter saying I had no home insurance! They hadn’t taken the payment for some reason, then sent a letter saying it was lapsed!

I have a similar issue with the private plate. Also received another reminder saying my roadside assistance had lapsed I think because they still have the old plate (despite me changing it everywhere and having it booked into 2 different vw dealers with that plate. The system also thinks it’s a T5 as it’s an 04 plate.

I never did get any response either from the dealer or vw direct on retrospectively applying the discount. No surprise they wouldn’t do it but pretty poor that no one replied.

What ever system VW use is useless
My van was first registered on my original personal plate then I changed it to new PP which thier system doesn't recognise so have to give original number which then brings up new number

Yep the VIN still matched throughout but their system couldn’t just say this is the same van FFS.

On my van arriving in the UK I will on collection be taking out the Extended Warranty for an additional 3 years (80,000 miles). I would rather have the peace of mind so-to-speak than have to dig deep into my pocket on the off chance.

Just to let everyone know just what a bargain the VW extended warranty is my wife has just enquired about her Mazda CX5 being extended.

VW £830, 3 years, 3 services, 3 MOTs roadside assistance.
Mazda £1037 for just 3 years servicing and MOTs. No roadside, no courtesy. The (separate) extended warranty will come in at about another £600. So almost double what I paying VW!

Hi I am going to extend the warranty on my van when I pick it up and would like to know if the above is equally valid for a Transporter panel van? Grateful for any literature you may have that I can approach my dealer with. I spoke briefly with the dealer and all he told me was up to 5 years, 80,000 miles or 150,000 miles. That was all. There was nothing about roadside assistance, MOTs or servicing.

Thanks in advance.

David

Is this the VW “All in” plan that you’re comparing? If so, Afaik it’s only 2 years.

Mine is a converted panel van, I’ve just taken out the All In with VW. It includes 2 services over 3 years & 2 yrs warranty/mot/assistance.
Obviously they exclude anything to do with the conversion & the VB air that’s fitted.

Has anyone got or thought about VW ALL IN? Is it worth it? Positive and negative comments welcome. As I am extending the warranty up yo 5 years I saw this mentioned above and would like to know more 'real world' experience.

I have just taken the All In. On paper it’s a bargain. Not had to claim yet, hopefully won’t have to. But the services/breakdown/MOT are worth the price alone, you basically get 2 yrs warranty for free.
