I had exactly this in November, crank end seal and broken engine mount, i paid for the engine mount there and then as it was an MOT fail, but i couldn't swallow getting the seal done. Especially as i had the timing belt and WP replaced less than 2000 miles ago. Shocked to read the all-in t&cs (which i wasnt supplied with when i took out the policy) that rectification of oil leaks isnt covered. Funny though to find a VW passenger vehicle all-in policy doesnt have this clause, only commercial vehicles. I was offered a 10% goodwill by dealer, but still going to cost over £700 to sort. Something i’ll have to save for or CC ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Going through the same at present. Just posted on another thread. Defo get no joy with the All-in. item 5 I think of t&cs excludes oil leaks. Brought my T6 privately with this so called All-in warranty. Sales blurb clearly sells the peace of mind bo**ocks. Never got t&cs and they could have sent them when the policy transferred to my name which they didnt so never aware they even existed.
Spoke to underwriters tech guys who make the decision and they seemed to know their stuff. Ex mechanics. They administer for various manufacturers and VW are the only ones that excludes oil leaks!!
the only chance you have is goodwill gesture and seems arbitrary and randomly applied. they have offered me discount as a goodwill gesture but I will also have to pay for new timing belt and water pump on top which don’t need doing yet but be foolish not to.
had the oil seal, timing belt and water pump priced at a local indi specialist at £550 ish. Vw wanted near £500 just for seal. Indi is not genuine parts but assured me OEM quality and made by the same supplier to VW
only issue I have is that warranty still has 8 months to run so reluctant to jeopardise it.
incidentally had to pay for replacing a broken engine mount which I was told by the stealers was definitely not covered by the warranty only to be told by the underwriters that is definitely is covered so waiting to see if I can get my money back for that one

Picking up your other point re t&cs. I had same issue. Never seen any even though policy changed over to me with purchase. Reference them to sales blurb suggesting “total peace of mind” or something to that effect. I bought an extended warranty to reduce the likelyhood of big bills like this. What a waste of money, better off putting x amount in savings…
Annoyingly my all-in plan has now expired. The seal issue was found at my final check up before expiry. However the issue was found whilst still covered. Did you get this result through your dealer, the underwriter or vwfs?The warranty underwriters told me it was only vw that had this exclusion

As previously stated i was charged for engine mount but should of been covered by warranty. Got a refund against cost of oil seal. Tbf vw, after a lot of emails, did me 50% goodwill in the end which also applied to cam belt and pump. Which felt like a result but wasn’t really as they didn’t need doing
Dont get me started on Engine Emission warning light and intermittent SCR fault. Called out VW Assist 4 times and dealer has had 6 goes at trying to sort without success. Problem at weekend with 650 countdown which bizarrely cleared after couple days. Wad expecting to have no transport very soon.
So in 10 months of ownership probably had more issues than in my driving career. Perhaps been previously lucky or just because I have owned Jap 4 x 4s. And these have all been old smokers.
In fairness i have had other work done under warranty, so not really a waste. Still an absolute jip thoughWhile oil leakes are not covered. Which I think is a bit bad really.
They all in extended warranty is still worth considering.
We've had dual mass flyer wheel, EGR cooler, EGR pipe, all replaced under warranty.
Over £2k worth of work.

Have you had your EGR done yet?Just to add to the list, 18 plate T6 2.0 bi-turbo with the same oil leak, and VW refused to cover it under the all in warranty. New cam belt needed as well due to oil everywhere.
I love my van, but my god the engines are so un reliable. Never had a vehicle had some much work done to it as this thing.
