Water Ingress Part 2

Whaaat... !

Where is it coming in from? The rear tailgate seal?

Tailgate fitment issue..... or other?

A recognised method of checking a rubber compression seal for contact is to take a chalk impression.
Clean the steel contact area and seal faces, must be 100% dry and grease free.
Using soft chalk not blackboard chalk apply a thin coat of chalk dust to the steel surface, the thinner the better.
Close the door / tailgate gently, slamming may give a false result.
Open and check that there is a chalk mark all around the seal, if there is a gap it’s an indication of a lack of contact.
Obviously white chalk works best on a black rubber seal.

You could try Water Finding Paste, smear it on the area where you suspect the leak.
It’s available on Ebay for a tenner.

Well after two days off of trying to get hold of the service manager who I’ve dealt with before and not returning my calls I’ve decided to log it VW customer services.
Waiting for a return call from one of their managers I won’t be holding my breath on the out come :(

Be honest mate I’m thinking of chopping it in, had the same ongoing problem with the last 2 velles I’ve had.
I’m sorry but a £40+ vehicle shouldn’t be having this problem :(
And the after sales service and is beyond shocking VW need a foot in the arse!
