Welcome new members

Just saying hello to everyone on the forum. I will be posting on this site cause in am a newbie to the Campervan life style. Just sold my wife and I cars, I have retired and we bought a T6 (T30 edition) 2019. SWB 150 DSG, ( thank goodness they don’t write all that on the back doors ) which she is going to use to go to work and we will be able to get away at the weekends when this Covid-19 stuff sorts itself out. That is the plan

Welcome! By the way, how much did you get for your wife?

Slightly second hand and shop soiled so not much these days, over 60 you see
Ha ha ha!
It was a cheap laugh of mine - ignore it! Your new van looks super though. Inside pics when you pick it up, please. This forum will only leave you selling a kidney on modifications!

Kidding aside, I think you will find the forum a great source of information and assistance.

Nice looking van Alan and welcome, I have had my van for about six months now and I love it, trouble is I can’t stop buying goodies for it.

T6 ownership is like having a new born baby...deciding whether to have one or not:p...all that excitement waiting for it to arriveo_O...sleepless nights wondering how you are going to adapt to a new way of living:eek:..if you can afford it £££££..more sleepless nights thinking about what accessories to buy it:unsure:....and then when it does arrive it feels like all your Christmas's have come at once and you want to tell the whole world and show everyone:mexican wave::waving::waving::waving::waving:, but also apprehension because you are well out of your comfort zone:cautious:o_O:eek::cry:...and then a new way of life begins!! Good luck.

Such a good analogy

I will keep that in mind. Just out of curiosity what goodies?
Light upgrades, chrome grill trim (upper and lower) extra door seals and a bike rack to name a few, a front splitter is likely to be my next purchase. I have found Travelin-lite to offer a really good service on numerous after market parts, cheaper if you purchase via their ebay site with next day delivery.

1st of March, St David’s day and when I pick up the new Van and since the worst of the Winter will be behind us and hopefully Spring will be well established. Covid-19 is still going to mess things up for some time but I have to remain optimistic that some fun with the new T6.1 Highline Camper conversion can still be enjoyed. Nice to join a group of like minded enthusiasts and most probably I will have loads of questions going forward. The first one is whether to swap the standard 16” alloys for 18” alloys and lower the suspension by 30 to 40mm? Why? Just to fill the wheel arch since as a Camper conversion It’s not going to be used for loading up anymore than the conversion and only my wife and myself will be riding in it. I do like a slightly firmer ride as well, used to firmer suspensions and not had experience yet of driving the van on the standard set up and wheels. Anyway, here goes, any advice appreciated. Last thing, it’s a T28 short wheel base 150DSG.

@CRS Performance, your not far from me and reading your replies, you seem to be the guru’s on suspension questions. My van will come from Rolling Homes in Shrewsbury and they said they can lower the van by using the VW garage near them as they work closely with them. They also told me any change of alloys or suspension will need the ‘radar’ re-calibrating? These are the alloys I am looking to buy to change from the standard 16” alloys E01EAE5B-89FB-40C0-A00E-82B1739FACED.png
Any help in finding the balance to lower the suspension to accommodate these alloys/wheels would be appreciated. I researched that EIBACH comfort 2 would do the job?

@Nuclear9 If you place an @ symbol before a users name, it’ll tag them and give them a notification that they’ve been mentioned in a post. Otherwise, even on a thread that they’ve taken part in or even started, they may no longer be ‘watching’ it and as such miss your message.

@CRS Performance

Oh and welcome to the forum! You’ll find that what Steve doesn’t know about suspension probably isn’t worth knowing.

Hi all, just dropping by to say hello and show my new toy for team white. T6 19 plate panel van with windows added side and rear, 20" and lowered., roof & side bars. Nothing much inside yet apart from insulation, 2+1 rear seats, carpeting and flooring. Brain in overdrive planning for the future...
