Welcome new members

Hi. I joined a few weeks back but have been so busy camping recently I’ve not been online much. Bought a newly converted van back in June after years of tent camping and am loving it. In the last 2.5 months I’ve been to France, Cornwall (a few times), Devon, Hereford as well as a few local trips around Gloucestershire, which is where I live (for now).

I have zero practical skills so won’t be doing any work on the van myself. Just looking for ideas really.
Welcome to the forum.

Much like you, I have zero practical skills. This means that, whilst awaiting my van, I have amassed an enormous long list of jobs that I need various professionals to undertake. It's a very expensive way of doing things, but at least I won't end up with a van that looks like Frank Spencer has been let loose on it.

Hi all,

We’ve finally done it, bought a T6.1 and ready to adventure with our boys (human and canine) … first stop durdle door!

looking for any tips on tripping with young kids and essentials we should have / stuff we don’t need!…

So excited to join the community!
The Gray 4!

Afternoon everyone, I’m Stu, owner of a 2016 T6 , poptop, rib-bed and the usual gubbins (pics attached if the old thumbs are working properly) the kids look after themselves more now so this is a bit of a lifestyle shift for me and the Mrs,…and the pup.

We’ve covered mileage all over Europe and the UK, like sampling local ale and snap (food) a bit of walking, kayaking, fishing, surfing, being horizontal. etc etc.

I haven’t read any other intro posts in the thread before jumping in, but I’m guessing this reads like many others.

Any road, looking forward to contributing where I can and generally being part of the community.

Cheers.

Hi all you T6'ers.
Should be taking delivery of a new T28 150PS DSG van in a few weeks time, all being well.
My current T5, 2005 vintage, is being moved on for some new wheels. Looking forward to the DSG, only hope I don't live to regret it ;)

The main regret moving from T5 to T6 to me was the engine. The 5 pot 2.5 is miles better. Pulls like a train and so far the new euro6 150 average 1 mpg better than my old T5.
The 150 is a lot quieter from standstill and at startup, on the move really no difference.
However the Dsg will Make the t6 faster off the line up to third gear.
It will not take long before you fall in love with your new T6 :)

Hello Everyone,
Just got myself a 2018 LWB 4Motion in Pure Grey after many years of wanting one. Sad to see the old T5 go this weekend but onto a new chapter.
Already started sound deadening and built a removable double bed for the T6.
Cheers AJ

would be great to see pics of your van!

Hello, after selling my T4 back to its previous owner a couple of months ago, we're finally back in the fold with the purchase of a 2018 Edition. It's already carpet lined so It'll mostly stay as it is for the moment as it will be transporting my better half's stock to craft shows and my bikes to bike shows. The only thing I want to do short term is fit some blinds.

Morning everyone, just thought I'd say hi.
I live in Hertfordshire and currently own a mk3 caddy,
Due to ulez and expansion I will soon be on the look out for a replacement, iv always wanted a transporter so what better time haha.
I just wish the prices wasn't so stupid at the moment! I have attached a pic of my caddy too. Which will be up for sale to help fund the new one

I've always loved a Caddy. If the salesperson hadn't messed up so badly with the one I chose I would be in a a Caddy and not a T6.

Judging by your van, you've made a great start to campervan life.

Have fun exploring the forum - it contains a huge accumulation of knowledge and experience, and is frequented by friendly folk who are willing to help in many ways. Just remember, the only stupid question is the one not asked. ;)

Hola @maurox25, bienvenido al foro.

Desafortunadamente, la mayoría de los miembros del foro no hablan español (incluyéndome a mí - he usado Google Translate), por lo que sería útil si publicas en inglés.
