Welcome new members

Evening, just joined and looking for tips as I am investing in a van this year.
Can't wait to get started
Keep an open mind and do your research, when it comes to buying stuff for your van a lot of people will tell you buy cheap buy twice and it is sound advice as most will or can tell you. Most of all have fun and do the things you like and make you smile for yourself. Van life is all about having fun with it.

Evening All.

Hope all you are well.

Been a while since i been in a VW last one was a T5.1 lwb then had a T6 crewcab for a short while but needed a van so had to go away for a while.

Having Delivered tomorrow New T6.1 LWB Highline van can not wait been waiting since 2017 to get back in a Transporter.

am wanting to do a few tiny upgrades to it to make it my own.

Will post some pictures when i have her .

Thanks Kev.

but will post some pictures when it gets here.

Thanks

Afternoon All, and Happy New Year!

I have just joined as am buying a 2017 T6 SWB Combi this weekend. Never had a 'commercial vehicle' before, but will be using as my daily driver instead of a car. Looking forward to starting some planned mods for it, to use as a motorcycle transporter and also somewhere to sleep on the European trips away.

Scott.

Welcome to the forum Scott.

Is that the Reichstag building in the background of your profile pic?

A lucky guess ;) and lucky you!

Is Germany where you're looking to tour in your van?

Not just Germany, all over Europe. I recently bought a Husky 701 Enduro, and the plan is to go across to Europe and ride as many off-road trails as possible in the Alps/Dolomites/Pyrenees etc. A buddy has also just bought a 701, so we are planning our first trip to ride the northern France section of the Trans Euro Trail (TET) in March. My wife and I have family in Denmark as well as friends in Germany so having the van gives us lot's of options for trips away. :)

You were all right about spending money, I cant stop buying accessories. though now, I've got pretty much everything I need apart from the driveway awning. I'm sure I'll find more things that I need. I must say, the batteries are working so well. I went for 2x renogy 100AH batteries with the 60 Amp B2B charger and a 2000W invertor. I can pretty much do what I want off grid within reason. I'll add solar later this year but it can do everything I need. It's got an autoterm diesel heater which seems great as well. Ill put up a post with pictures and the full spec when I have chance to in weather other than mist.

Hi all
New member and new to the world of T6 campervans.
Hoping for hints and tips to get me started and recommendations for camper friendly places to visit.
Tim
Welcome Tim. I use the searchforsites app. I pay because it has helped me out a few times but it is free.

However as a group we have some great weekends out all documented on the forum. Spring, Summer Autumn and Camps and a load of shows. Fun is had by all and they are very laid back events - unload you get involved with @Dellmassive and the lovely Lisa or @czmate1999 and the lovely Jana then you’re done! Hangover central.

My therapy sessions are coming to an end for 2022 just in time for 2023’s shenanigans :slow rofl:

My last one was a 2010 t5 that I face lifted to a t6 front.

I’m thinking of going down the lower swamper look with my new one!

Hi all, new to the group. Looking to buy a T6 camper dsg auto around 2018. Anything I need to know or ask would be greatly appreciated. Also what would be considered high mileage for something of that year. Thanks in advance.

Depends what you mean by "high mileage" - for a 4/5 year old van used exclusively as a camper from new, then 40k might be considered unusually high, but 80k for a daily driver probably wouldn't.

You should probably concentrate more on how well a van has been serviced and maintained, rather its mileage, as this is a far better predictor of future reliability and longevity.
