Welcome new members

Hi all, thanks for the add.

I'm hopefully picking up a 2020 6.1 startline at the end of the month.

A friend who works for my local dealer has kindly sorted out body colouring the bumpers for me to make it look nicer.

He also has a set of 20's they have available that I can have.

I'll be using the van for work(carpet cleaning) and family life.

Looking forward to being a part of the family.

Welcome to the forum.

Just wanted to say hi.
I have had a 2016 t6 highline camper since may.
I have been lurking and thought it was about time I joined.
I have already had to fix a couple of quirks that seem to be quite common, but enjoyed finding info on these forums and fixing them myself, I am not even half competent but thanks to some excellent info here I have managed, so thank you for your knowledge.
I love the van

Hi All, just picked up a new to me t6.1 startline that’s had a few tweaks already. Can’t wait to get the camper conversion underway.

Hi Pauly. Thanks for the warm welcome. Just bought a 2017 T6 startline panel van that I am converting into a camper/day van. So I am sure I will be asking for lots of help and advice.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say a quick hello new to the site
About to start converting our van into a full on camper over the winter. The aim is to have it complete by spring next year!

Many long hours to come. But got a great base to start from.
Picked up the van last week, 1 owner and only 55k on the clock. Absolutely mint!

Looking forward to the process and hopefully getting some advise off the experienced people on here.

Thanks everyone.

Steve

Alright all, just joined the group but owned my 2020 t6.1 since the start of the year, been an ongoing project turning it into a MTB camper van over the last few months, but the inside is starting to get close to completion so time to put some graft into the outside.IMG_7283.jpeg

Hi all

New member here. Bought a 2012 t5.1 SWB 102 startline panel van with tailgate in August ‘23. Known van as previous owner is a friend, excellent service history will all the major maintenance done recently.

Previous owner had already removed bulkhead, insulated and carpeted rear, fitted rns315 DAB/Sat Nav stereo, fitted body coloured sportline style body kit, rear lights with clear indicators, LED bulbs in various positions, sliding window in side loading door and 18” Wolfrace Munich black/polished alloys.

So far I have fitted a-pillar grab handles, dash “cubby hole” mats with matching door pocket and glove box inserts, dash/windscreen gap seal trim, t6 wiper arms and aerotwin wiper blades, anti-theft spare wheel carrier bolt, Passat W8 interior light, tailgate interior release switch and Heko wind deflectors.

Plan to fit as and when time/funds allow; heated windscreen using heated rear window dash button (my van doesn’t have a rear window), rear view camera (and maybe parking sensors), front fog lights and DRL strips, swap double passenger seat for captains single and swivel seat bases, install 1+1+1 rear/Kombi seats, 17” GP 7 winter wheels, leisure battery and split charger, auxiliary/night heater, stainless discreet exhaust (for fit and forget longevity, ideally as quiet as standard exhaust)… they’re just the things I’ve already thought of

Bought mainly as a mountain biking van as I’ve got an e-mtb and am fed up with taking wheels off to get it in my car, and is too heavy for me to be happy with it on a roof rack. Longer term will certainly plan on doing a few road trips/holidays in it, North Coast 500, maybe onto the continent… we’ll see.

So far, absolutely loving VW transporter life, wish I’d done it years ago!

If anyone has read this far, sorry to keep you but thank you for sticking around.
