Welcome new members

Hello all, VW newby here. T6 conversion from Needingworth Campers, a very pretty van in Fortana red; 20” wheels, side bars, and more LEDs than you can shake a stick at. I think I’ve worked out where to put all the various bits and bobs, though nothing like the original plan. I’m having to be ruthless, moving from a capacious caravan and SUV setup. The roof curve in the top cupboards threw me, so only low things in there then. And I need things like waste bins, and hooks to hang coats and towels from.
I’ve taken it on a couple of long journeys; not sure I’ve got the best satnav on my phone - used to built in on a Karoq. That said, I’m getting my head around CarPlay. Might have a hunt for threads on here comparing satnav platforms.
Looking forward to chatting!

It is indeed a very pretty van! Welcome aboard!

Hello,
New member here from Oxford.
I bought my van this week - a 2017 T6 Highland SWB. About to embark on the conversion journey...
Getting a Westdubs pop top installed by Westdubs in Jan, and then will be doing as much as I can myself until I get to the RnR bed. Already learnt so much here (including how to fix my broken barn door locking mechanism - thanks) - I expect to be spending a lot more time here over coming few months...

Always good to get a new member, Always great to see some pictures!
Sounds like your van future is well planned already! Enjoy the process, but obviously keep us posted!

Evening all

Another new T6 owner down south here. I've gone and got myself a LWB T6 kombi in cherry red or post office colours as everyone is telling me  And i've got to say, i bloody love it :D I'm even enjoying it more than my daily drive

It's going to be used as a day van with weekends away kite surfing, mtb & kayak adventures and going to jet ski races. It'll be pretty bare as i'll have the skis in there, hence the LWB. Looking to get a pop top, leisure battery, split charger, solar, new head unit, reversing camera, interior lighting, heater and redo the flooring in the new year. Some of it i'll do, but i'd rather have someone do a job twice as good as i could do in half the time with a lot less swear words/skinned knuckles.

Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself. Im Rick, living just outside Cambridge and fingers crossed will be picking up my (new to me) T6 camper next month.

Its a 2019 LWB, Highline,150bhp, 6 speed manual in Indium grey, tailgate etc, Hillside Leisure conversion, and I cant wait. A few years ago I owned a same spec T5.1 but bought it at the very beginning of the Covid lockdowns so it sat unused for 5 months and then I sold it. Sadly I didnt get to use it for what I purchased it for, so with this new one I intend to drive the wheels off it!!

It is a standard factory T6 and I want to "pimp" it slightly. Sportline nose, 18" / 19" wheels, side bars and a new head unit. With that in mind, are there any RECOMMENDATIONS for any VW conversion companies in the east, south or central England that could quote a price and can deliver a high standard of work? I dont mind travelling anywhere in the UK to be honest if the price and standard of work makes it worth while.

I've been looking on line these past few weeks and have found a few that look ok and, when I've actually got the van, will drive around to speak to them face to face.

Many thanks in advance for any thoughts or recommendations you could give.

Rick.

Hey Rick, welcome to the forum mate.

You could try Knights Custom Conversions (Spalding) who did my conversion but do other mods too, as much or as little as you like and to a very high standard.

Post some pics of your van when you get it. Good luck buddy.

Hi Melissa, thank you for joining our happy crew! Perhaps start with the 'For Sale and Wanted' threads which you will find if you hit Forums on the top left hand corner of most pages, then scroll down and you will find for sale stuff!
Quite a few for sale on there to start you off!
