Welcome new members

Hi and thanks for the invite to join this forum.
My T6 is a bit off the main stream being a factory order (dec16), arrived (apr 17).
VW T6 T30 150 TSI Lwb Hi-Line as a starting point to which had the following add, LED headlights, Tail lights and interior. Rear tailgate. Parking sensors front and rear plus camera. No bulkhead and single passenger seat with matching arm rests and adjustments as drivers seat. tow bar prep. Removeable towbar and 13 pin electrics i installed after using VW parts. Oh and Colour is the very Popular Idurium Gray.
I have a genuine Ross-tech VCDS cable so should be able to look after my T6 without to many trips to the dealer.

Hallo dear @all.
I Like to get my T5.2 a bit upgraded into a T6, so hopefully i find some tips to do it here.

I have just bought a new 204 LWB Tailgate to convert to a camper! My stepson/kitchen fitter (We sell & fit Kitchens) bought his, in July last, and is now at the point of design/mock up/ fit cabinets.
Suffering a bit of envy, I thought I would have a go, and have two questions, I thought might generate feedback.
1) I hate the headlights... considering what it cost, they are a joke. I drive a Jaguar normally, with LEDs, and though I know that I will never reach this sort of standard with normal bulbs, I was wondering if I got the aftermarket DRL type, like supplied by Transporter HQ, or similar, and uprated the bulbs to Philips Extreme 150 would it make much difference? I'm sure someone has tried.
2) On sound insulation. I have read the 15 pages on this forum, with interest and wondered if top rated carpet underlay, (We have loads spare at work) might replace the Silent Coat, stuck directly to the metal panels and follow on with thermal, maybe lambs wool ? I know I should have it done professionally, but I do have some leisure time, & not much money left

I cant help you with the headlights question, however I can say that underlay will not do the same as Silent Coat. Silent coat is a very dense rubber material, its the weight of it that stops the panels vibrating, underlay does not have the density/weight to achieve this. Im sure others will be able to explain better.

Welcome to the family!

We've got the van, just waiting for it to go in for its conversion. It doesn't go in until Feb though and I'm getting very restless now. It's like owning a pool but having to wait 3 months to fill it lol.

Happy camping!

Thank you Oh no that will be painful, just remember as with us it will be worth it
