Welcome new members

Thank you for the forum.

Finally fulfilled the dream to own my own campervan, having recently retired I have taken the plunge and will be collecting my newly converted T6 from Denby Campervans in 2 weeks.
A seasoned camper, but looking forward to a better outdoor sleeping experience, amongst the many other benefits of van life.

We will be heading off in May for a 3 - 5 month trip, walking and cycling in Picos De Europa, Pyrenees, southern mid and Northern Alps and perhaps into Scandinavia depending on what time of year we finish in the Alps.

Currently looking for all the must have items for the van, that I haven’t got in my camping kit, main one being a driveaway awning/tent.

Going to the NEC next week, for some ideas.

Very happy and looking forward to many adventures.

Welcome onboard, walk around all the halls and then walk around a second time to make your purchases..

Personally I would spec for velle. However, I think in this situation.. the search function will be your best friend for a few hours.

There have been many similar questions with great advice..

Good luck.

Hi all,

Looking to buy my first VW Tranporter so any advice would be gratefully received. I am looking to spend £15k to £19k need auto or DSG 5 seats and enough room for a mobility scooter in the rear. What are my options? Is Transporter or Caravelle the best option? What do I need to look for when buying and owning?

Many thanks

Although your budget is not to be sniffed at, you might find once VAT is added, any decent T6s go over the top end of your budget.
There are some none-vat private sales around, but you'd get more Kombi for your money.
DSG is certainly an extra premium cost, but I guess not impossible.

Unless by 'Transporter' you are open to a T5.1 in which case you will get more for your money.

Personally if I had a budget of max £19k and I actually wanted the T6 because of it's aesthetics, I don't see an issue with a high spec T5.1 and look at doing a T6 facelift for around £2k.
Plenty of companies offering this service using genuine parts, including Transporter HQ.

Congratulations! Being an ex HGV driver and now courier driver I travelled across UK several times :). I can highly recommend couple of driving trips:
1. Snowdonia , hours of picturesque drives there, especially roads like A4212, A470, A487, A4086, B4406 actually anywhere within Snowdonia National Park you go is beautiful. Whilst there I highly recommend taking an extra 45min and driving towards Porthmadog (nice small town) and than is only a stone throw to Morfa Bychan where you can take a Beach Road which leads straight to the... beach! Beautiful sandy, flat and wide which you can actually drive on or stop for a sunset for example.
2. Cornwall! (it should actually be number one :). Small camper van like T6 its ideal for narrow roads and also plenty of camper van friendly places there. Driving to Cornwall just stay away of the A30 and anywhere will be beautiful (use it on a return journey).
3. If you love piece and quiet I recommend Isle of Man, love the empty roads during the day!

There's so many nice places! Other places worth visit are Devon south coast, Dorset coast, White Cliffs of Dover and than scenic drive to Brighton, Lake District National Park, Peak District National Park and of course Scotland, ( beautiful Loch Lomond lake just outside Glasgow if you in the area ), Brecon Beacons National Park.
That's it for now...

Thanks mate for the recommendation I’ll have a look into them.

Hello all.... new T6 owner here, our first VW transporter Kombi. Its the Euro 5 Highline 140 BMT model, and we're loving it already (albeit app-connect locked for android auto *sigh).
It has been a long dream of mine to own a transporter, now I finally have one :)
Primarily going to be used as a day bus for mountain biking and the occasional night away, and of course family holidays.

Now I need to look for seat covers

Thanks Lee.
Had VWs for nearly 30 years, but relative newcomer to modern stuff. Had a Mkll Caddy, an Indian Blue T4 and then a Candy White and Reflex Silver T6s before this one.

Also run these.

Yes mate, off to Belgium in a couple of weeks. Can’t decide which one to take.
They get driven regularly, both modified and have 150bhp engines.

That sounds perfect mate. So they shift a little bit then. That journey I think I will personally take the old camper :thumbsup:
