Westfalia detachable tow-bar self-fit [Guide]

OK so update for the 6.1 owners. Just taken the van out for a short drive and the error messages cleared straight away. Tested the 13 pin tow bar and all outputs reading correctly.
So to confirm and hopefully help a few others out, the BCM plugs that need to come out are the middle one and the one on the right as you sit looking at the steering wheel (instructions suggest it's the one on the left)
There's hardly any room to get your hands up but it is doable so percevere. Becareful of the BCM connector clamp blocks as I broke one releasing it, they're very stiff.
I detached the existing cables from the blocks and terminated the new cables (Option 1 on PF jones instructions)
I used the red and black cable, not the one with yellow rings.
VCDS coding varied a lot when looking at the instructions, a lot of the modules they suggest wern't available for me.
I haven't hooked a caravan up yet to test the coding so will be back and update for VCDS guidance if I get issues.

It was a nightmare, spent ages upside down in the footwell with my arms buried up inside the dash. Not easy, and I couldn’t gain any slack as different bits of the loom went in different directions. Still glad I did it myself though, my time isn’t that expensive!

Tbh, hated doing this job. The fear of selecting the wrong wires and properly buggering it up….

Proud of myself for doing it. Would pay someone next time!

Well done.
I did it myself exactly the same as you but I did do a lot of unnecessary dismantling of dash. Clocks out all trims off but ended up just doing it from the underside on my back then reassembling the dash
I have a bulb fault error but all my external bulbs/lights are working plus I have another strange fault though.
My interior lights aren’t working including map reading lights plus my rear window wiper isn’t working too. So pulling my hair out at the moment trying to figure out what going on.

I am trying to find out which is the fuse for the interior lights and rear wiper
