OMG. I came across northern soul a couple of years back for the first time. It was at a scooter rally at Millport. As much as I love music, the wife couldn't believe I'd never known of it before.

I couldn't stop laughing. Totally convinced they'd been wired to the mains. Brilliant.

I just watched this documentary on Youtube, loved it.

Stand back incase my 22" Oxford bags whip you as I do a quick spin not to mention my black leather trench coat which was only 10" shorter than myself and the Adidas bag covered in Keep the Faith badges... yep I was there for a change.
Wigan Casino, Notts Palais, Blackpool Mecca, The Ivo Centre, Central Hall, Howard Mallet at Peterborough, in my defence I was a "natural" and didn't go round with massive pupils and white foam in the corners of my mouth but I also never made it past 4:00 am before flaking out... four of the lads from Northampton I used to see at the all nighters never made it into the 80s, sadly there was a darker side to the scene with brown and clears leading to harder stuff.
Still got a couple of boxes of singles from then although I did go on to become a late 70s funkateer and have more import vinyl from the late 70s/early 80s.

1970's All-nighters with "Speed" & fast music = 1990's All-nighters with "E's" and fast music ?, well not to me anyway
