What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

James - It's standard Simora upholstery. I used 3mm hardboard from my local B&Q for about £6. I might have preferred MDF but didn't really want to go much thicker than 3mm and neither my local B&Q nor Homebase sold anything less than 6mm and I couldn't be bothered to drive into town to my nearest timber merchant. I don't plan to use the folded back as a seat and so reasoned that 3mm hardboard should do the job but if, for any reason, it failed then it was a cheap lesson learnt and I could try again with different material.

Two really big jobs completed today.....
1. Fitted the bungs in the tailgate threshold, don’t understand why they don’t come from the factory with these.
2. Fitted a grommet round the hole I drilled for my rear dashcam cable.

I’m exhausted now :slow rofl:

Not me but @travelvolts did some great work correcting the electrics following a bit of a fudged attempt by the converters! Really happy we can be assured of the performance and safety!2D5F9E54-41E9-4E65-B46E-496B79287B2F.jpegF7E08158-80CF-4C2D-BEB5-05E2AA67ED38.jpeg
This is obviously the before shot showing how much had to come out! A warning to all I think that you do need to do you homework in advance and not rely on reputation.

Thanks - very useful, I’ve upgraded my seats do need to look how difficult it would be

where did you get those bungs from?
I'm missing one.

Carpeted my newly cut panels minus the roof.
Saving that for tomorrow. Ripped my fingers to bits putting in the hidden clips.....but worth it for the finish.
Didn't know it was such a big job carpeting a van.........I'm glad I'm only doing it the once.
The Mrs commented on how much better it looks which cheered me up and she also kept me loaded up on caffeine throughout the day.
Time for an alcoholic beverage!

Made a tear of about 2cm along a seam in my poptop 'canvas' (although it's actually a synthetic material of some kind):

There's obviously a bit of repair work to be done and I'll be talking to the makers tomorrow. In the meantime does anyone have any recommendations for firms that might be able to do the job, preferably in the West Midlands / Gloucestershire region? Any other suggestions much appreciated.

Thought I'd finished with the interior panels until I tried to get the roof strips in with the std clips(doh).
Looks like the front panel will have to wait till new clips arrive.
I'm happy I went with the white roof to match the cab though.......would have been to dark otherwise......imo.

This last one is to show my mounting method, these little gems are 'chimney nuts' or at least they are in this part of the UK, basically a clip with a thread on the back, genius! Have to flatten the lip in the panel a bit but makes blind mounting easy, anyway I was impressed
