What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Fitted my new number plate surrounds and lock pins...

Unscrewed the originals..

Originals have a lot of thread to unscrew but the replacements are much shorter.

Quite chuffed for a cheap, quick and easy mod.

Good Lord no. I struggle to turn the key I'm that incompetent. However, we don't have a "What have others done to your van today" so I have to post here.
Work was carried out by Copthorne services in Shrewsbury. Excellent service and very nice people to deal with. Would whole heartedly recommend.
Want to do exactly the same on my factory kombi, just worry the fake rears will be too dark to match the factory side windows even after limo tinting then?
Can I ask how much they charged fitted?

Dropped almost everything from the underside of the van and undersealed. There was a missing protection shield not put back on in the ast and there was some slight surface rust. I could not live with myself knowing it was there so now I will never have worries.
All shields put on.
Also fitted the Ebers.

Can I ask what you used to under seal your van and the quantity please

I would recommend Bilt Hamber Dynax UB applied with a compressor and underbody wax gun, use white spirit for thinning just a touch depending on temperature.
Did mine last year much the same.

Westy, Good job there, well done. I actually bought mine from Seatshelf (SeatShelf (Anthracite grey) T6 Swivel Bench seat) and it's also very good but it was only after I received it that I realised how simple it would have been to DIY (I've said on here a number of time that I'm a mechanical and electrical moron but my woodworking skills aren't bad!). In my case, I added a box which provides some much needed storage space for smaller stuff and also an arm rest for the passenger (again, much needed!).

Really like the look of that. I've been mulling over whether to go for one of those or go the whole hog and get a tow bar fitted and buy the rack to go on it. I only actually need a two bike rack and really want the ability to take it off and stick it up in the loft when it's not needed - one like yours simply won't go through the loft hatch - hence me thinking towbar. The lockdown and consequent inability to use the camper has allowed me to put off the decision for a while but I'm hoping that my hand will be forced in the not too distant future!

I’m considering on of these, Atera STRADA DL 3 to 4 bike carrier (UK lights) no. AR2603.

Looked at that and also the The Thule Easyfold
which is a bit dearer. Money is not a real factor but I'm also thinking about something like this:
(which is at the other end of the price scale) and will be looking for opinions on here in due course. It helps that, weight wise, we only need to carry two bikes with a combined weight of under 18Kgs (or 20Kgs depending on which bike I take!).

Really like the look of that black bike rack on your silver van @cgtmiles!

That is the T5 rack, isn‘t it? Looks like it fits the T6 fine too!

I have a silver van too, and was about to get the VW T6 4 bike rack, but now you have made things difficult....

Mind if I ask where you got a black one from?

Andy

It’s T5 style but made to fit t6. T5upgrades sell them in black as electric tailgate model. They powder coat the VW rack black. They are hide-bill- from-wife expensive though but IMO look great
And a justifiable cost if considering getting a tow bar fitted to fit a rack
