What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Nearly finished my van, just the remap to have done.

Just completed the installation of Transporter HQ V3 lights and side repeaters. That said, the right O/S repeater light Fills with water When it rains. Non to pleased I can tell you, however I’m assured a replacement is being arranged, so fingers crossed this doesn’t turn in to a cluster by HQ?
Rear view camera supplied by Absolut5, thanks for that Jason, installed and coded, never looked back, literally

Just when you think your van is low... Visited THQ today to get the Revo map for the 150 diesel. Can't complain at all, feels the same as before just 30% more, super smooth delivery, well worth it for the torque in the higher gears

Finished my custom side panel for my son as he was complaining about the lack of light in the back. The panel has a switch to turn on /off mood lights, remote control to select colours and if you want them sequenced and arm rest courtesy of the brother in law who works at JLR

So we wanted to get down to single front seats but the cost of a T6 captains seat is breathtaking.
This whole set up cost just over £600 so a little more palatable.

We went for the T5 seat at around £250, as the VW seats are not comfortable so will at some point change them completely or get them reupholstered, this way we are not paying T6 seat prices (£900 +). The rest of the hardware would be used on any seat change so no cash risk in those.

Fitting, about an hour per seat to remove and refit, it's all really simple nuts and bolts. The only thing to be careful of is the seat belt sensor (just unplugs but if you forget will be a big problem as it will throw up a electrical fault on the canbus).

Transporter seat covers and gear gator from
Transporter HQ

Swivels and passenger base with locker from
Kiravans
(TUV approved with test cert supplied).

Passenger seat came from eBay (it's actually from a T5 but they fit straight in). Came from Poland but has all the VAG info on at, supplied as a genuine part. It looks like it's never been used.

Looks good, didn’t realise there was such a price difference between T5 and 6 seats!
By the way, a great many of the OEM parts of a Transporter are made in Poland, that’s why a lot of the eBay stuff is there. Although they’re actually assembled in Hanover I don’t know if they actually make many of the parts there.

Changed wheels, gone back to standard for the winter. The 22's the van came with are a bit too bling for my taste. Going for some 18's in the spring.

Had my van back from the body shop today, really good local repair work carried out and I not easy to please when it comes to people doing work for me, if any of you need a body shop in Kent I can strongly recommend ABC in Aylesford Kent

I did it! I've gone back to my boy racer days... Yes it does make that sound we all remember it certainly has a noticeable performance increase going through the revs, not too sure about the improved mpg it's claims but chuffed with it
