What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I think the 150% refers to minimum legal requirements, so may not be 150% of the OEM.

But they can't be any worse
Advertising blurb states "up to 150% brighter than standard".
We all know of course that "up to 150%" is somewhere between 0% and 150%.

Not done yet, but today I booked the van in for a front suspension refresh. Arb D bushes, drop links and control arm bushes. One of the downsides of living in the sticks.

Now trialled in the dark.
Distinctly brighter.
Bulbs give a whiter light which certainly helps.
Not convinced that there is a 150% increase in visibility.
Could still do with better visibility on dipped beam.
Main beam is great.
For a "cheap fix" it is certainly not bad, at all.
No current plans to spend the hundreds required to completely swap the light units.

As some one has said up to 150% covers a multitude of sins but they will be brighter. If the road is wet much of the additional brightness is absorbed. Only true HID bulbs and lenses are good here. Also if it is not truly dark, such as twilight, then even the best lights look dim. Make sure the lights are properly levelled, up to a height that is legal. I do not know about VW T6 particularly but many mechanics are very so, so, with beam setters. They often do not take to much notice of what they are doing and may set the lights far too low or at best, that will do. They do not normally tend to set them high, though on one occasion I set off for SKY in the small hours. The lights could have been used aircraft search lights. They are OEM HID, the best lights I have ever the satisfaction of sitting behind, cornering bendy and so on. Wonderful, but this was following a service at a reputable VAG garage. I had few tools but managed to pull then down. Anyway that is something else.

It does surprise me that none of the T6 have bendy lights, even my Yeti has them plus HID of course. many of us with OEM LED say they are good but in fact they are poor compared to proper HID with all the functions. It is a very poor show really considering the cost of a Top spec T6 against something like the Yeti. Its the short end of the straw.

....Girlfriend decided to pick a fight with a post whilst trying to reverse!!
Any thoughts on fixing this? A7307BFD-F59B-4750-A22A-C0286B286835.jpeg

Took SWMBO and kids to visit mother-in-law for a “trick or treat” before Boris locks the country down again. (Insert favourite witch joke here...!)

However, it gave me a chance to try out the H&R ARBs and Koni shocks over some twisty roadsthat @CRS Performance put on last week! Senior Management (aka SWMBO) still approves of the upgrade, though it didn’t stop her reminding me not to “throw the van around like a car!”

Another positive is that I may be allowed a pint when I get home for the sacrifices I made today!!!

Fitted the Oem rear mudflaps bought off Fleabay last week before the storm arrived...
...I'm going to hold my hands up here and say that I had to 'improvise' as the bracket holes were out of sync and there was no way I could get more than 1 of the 4 bolts to line up and accept the screw. So, heavy duty cable ties to the rescue......guess I'll be checking them every week for the foreseeable future but they seem rock solid.
I may be the odd one out but I actually prefer the Oem ones to the stubbies. Each to their own :)

The sun visor doesn't really do much when the sun is low so I looked around for a cheap solution on Amazon and found these "MONOJOY Car Sun Visor Extension, Car Anti Glare Driving HD Visor, Day and Night Vision Eye Protector Anti-Glare Anti-UV Anti-Dazzle Windshield Extender (2 pack) "

They work well with the dark filter in the sun and the yellow filter at night ...

I have seen those advertised previously but was not quite sure how effective they might be. I agree with your words about the standard shades. They are poor. This day and age they should be fitting something a lot better. How about something like an electrically operated roller blind. That are shaped to eliminate all the little gaps that normally allow the laser like sun beams early and late sun to drill into ones head. Thank you for posting the images I have a better idea what the would be like.

Kind of Blue - Dream on. If it's going to cost VW another 50p to fit something as standard, they simply won't do it. My own personal view is that when you consider how much a new T6 costs to buy, VW are probably the most penny pinching (aka tight 4rsed) car firm out there. I guess they've got to pay the bill for the emissions scandal somehow.

I agree!

However someone else or an aftermath outlet perhaps might make something. Some cars come with double shades each side that one can swing one blind for the side widow while still having one at the front. I had a Mercedes GL with that arrangement. They where also deeper the the T6 versions
