What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I really like the blue too. I still plan to go red as it needs to match my front end, but blue is a very good shout!

I don’t have any other colour on the van which is why I went for blue, for the contrast.

Thinking I may try a blue strip on the front grill, although not cheap if I don’t like it.

Try a thin blue LED or EL strip across the front, then people might think you have one of the new electric VWs (if they're deaf :D)

:sneaky: Would need to add the electric car sound to really fool them.

Thinking I may add in the thin DRL’s that fit in the long grill although I believe you have to buy a full grill to get the lights?

Ha ha ha!

I dropped the boys off for the school bus on Friday...rich dad rocks up again in his brand new all-electric Porsche...my 6-year old sticks his head out of the bus to declare: “My Daddy is going to bring his laptop next week, hack your car and give it a new sound!” I died with embarrassment as even the bus driver fell about laughing!

(Note to self: Children have big ears and understand more than you think!)

Started building the bed structure in the back of my Shuttle day van. It needs to be easily removable so I can put the rear bench in, but give us all the functionality we need. It’s taking a bit of thinking about...

I would like to say that I made this up, but it’s true! Thankfully, “rich dad” saw the funny side....albeit nervously!

Suspension!

Had a bit of a mare with the bottom ball joints, which I just removed the 2 bolts for in the end. Had to whip the track rod end out of one side too so I could get the drives shaft out.

The dust covers on my shocks was non oem so has order some which has held the front up for the next few days.

Got the swivel base and a couple of other job to do tomorrow anyway. Might see If I can do the rear suspension too.

@huw169 i have similar needs so wouldn’t mind sharing thoughts with you on how best to do this. Mine is a kombi though

@Mysticboer
My last van was a kombi. Mounting off the side is better for strength and support.
Shuttle is a bit trickier as I want to keep all the shuttle trim, but also want to be able to remove it allin minutes. Used the toggles to clamp it down. The whole upper centresection will be hinged and just pop out for bikes. Bit of bag storage behind the second row seats in front of the floor cross member. Upper cross member next. It is a work in progress ;)
