What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Took delivery of the van-x glovebox, hopefully get round to fitting it on weekend. Also ordered a Saris Traps bike rack for the rear cargo area, delivery dependant will also for that over the weekend
It's easy to fit.....just be careful when removing the air vent
I cracked mine

Booked in with Jason at AbsoluT5 for a new head unit, reverse camera and some rear speakers. Absolutely loving van life a month in, despite not being able to go anywhere during lockdown

Had some 20” Inovit Speed wheels fitted today, courtesy of @ChrisR at the Van Cave. Chris had them powder coated in matt gunmetal and I’ve had them shod with Vredestein Ultrac Vorti 265/40. Dead chuffed with the result and can thoroughly recommend the Van Cave!

Are you running a 10" rear?
Apart from the fact that there appears to be no UK stock I am seriously tempted by a set of those in a custom colour....

Hard wired a dash cam in T6 today.
There are some threads with various info but this is what I did.
Removed passenger A pillar handle, unclipped A pillar cover and air bag switch cover on end of dash.
Fed a cable from A pillar under glove compartment to fuse box and used piggy back fuse to connect to switched live.
Took earth from screw in bracket on A pillar and connected this and live to a cigarette lighter extension socket.
Fed wire from dash cam into roof lining and along to A pillar and plugged in to extension socket.
I needed to use the dash cam plug as it is 5v and there is plenty of room behind the A pillar cover for plug and socket.
Tested unit tie wrapped wires and refit covers and handle.
Job done :)

@Texxaco You can insert 10mm foam into the plastic step like this. Push down on the foam with the step to get an impression showing where to cut.
Other spaces are filled with strips from leftover foam.

Did you put sound deadening under your steps @DXX ?

I have done this with Dynamat but now I can’t get the step back in place. Actually I can but I cannot get the door seal fitted.

I must be doing something wrong here??

@Texxaco I used Dynamat on the steel and 10mm foam on the step. I don’t remember needing to remove the door seal.
From memory the one place there is no space for foam is the vertical face, just Dynamat there.

I must be doing something wrong here. Dynamat on the vertical and floor only yet the step won’t sit ion, it’s proud hence I can’t get the door trim on.

Right door trim back on tomorrow and start again. Cheers for the heads up @DXX

Fitted my battery / split charger and battery charger and think I’ve decided where I want to put two light switches - although not sure what to use to cut the plastic

Assuming you don’t have a hole-cutter set, a Stanley blade will do it. Or several, maybe, but you’ll have to be careful not to overshoot your templated drawing of the hole.

Can you lay your hands on a dremmel or something like that? If not, you could drill a hole first, then use a hacksaw blade and small file

Nice one! Do they have isofix? I put a waterproof blanket under the boys’ car seats - it catches all the crud they produce and for when they prop their feet up on the seats (doesn’t matter how muddy they leave the blanket!)
Triple bench had isofix on the two outer seats, at least mine does and i assume they are all the same

Finishing off the drivers footwell last night then this happened!

I was putting the step back when I peaked under the cab carpet and noticed this. No SD at all:mad:
