What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

not me personally but the mechanic has today
Fitted new water pump
Oil seal
Timing chain
Etc
Etc
Etc

to be fair they fitted me in really quickly
Otherwise I’m knackered without the van as it’s a working van
ADS in Preston i can recommend them

Ordered ours at the end of January. Was meant to be a 12 week lead time. Received confirmation that the "frame is now at powder coat" earlier this week. Fitting booked for later this month.
Hurrah.
Wow. That's some wait. Fingers crossed we don't have to wait the same!

I used a nail brush to clean every nook and cranny in the dash, steering wheel stitching, air vents, the fiddly trip buttons on the speed display and even the pedals and floor! Very tedious but it was needed and it won't need doing this thorough for the rest of this year.
Then a wash starting with a rinse then snow then a bucket wash then another rinse then spray wax and a final buff down.
Topped of with some tyre dressing. Job done. BEERS! F**k the photo! :slow rofl:

What’s the spray wax like? I’ve always done the turtle wax type stuff, but the much bigger surface area of the T6 might kill me. I’m hoping your method is easier!

It's just cheapo Demon Shine. Not a proper wax really but it's really quick on and off. Just spray, wipe over with a cloth then buff with another cloth. Slightly better than no protection and only takes 10 minutes to do the whole van.

I’ll still check it out. The ol’ wax-on / wax-off is bloody hard work on a vehicle this size.

New EGR pipe fitted today.... 16 plate van with 90k, only had it 4 months after buying from Go Explore Campers in Swansea. Massive thanks to the team at Go Explore who couldn’t have been more helpful. Rang them at the start of the week to explain the fault and within a day they messaged to say the new pipe was ready for me to drop then van down at my earliest convenience. Arranged to be there today and within an hour the new pipe (new design from vw which apparently resolves the long standing issue with these pipes cracking) was fitted and van washed ready for me to make the journey home. Absolutely superb service once again from Matt and Mark!

Yes isofix and airbags, I didn't really want them as they are a bit bin bag like, but there isn't anything else on the market for the price. After a week away with water, coffee, food, beer and wine let alone the rain they felt a good fit. After living with them for a week or so they are ok, they will protect the fabric for resale and reduce your concerns for eating and drinking inside the van. They are a means to an end, nothing more and nothing less.

Thank you - I’m going to have a look into these! You rigged yours up to your van?

Not yet, waiting on the vinyl curing over 24 hours before reassembling it. I did do a quick test run of the mount only before spraying it, am planning on mounting to to the bike rack and running the cables in through the tailgate grommet. Will do a bit of testing once its fully assembled to decide on a final position that doesn't interfere with the bikes themselves and its a bit sheltered from the wind.

Would be interested to hear how the cable routing works for you and how you connect it inside the van
