What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Finished my van today, apart from a couple of accessories (fiamma awning & tow bar), having the front seats re-trimmed was the last job.
I bought the van in Sept 18 and have progressed the build slowly but I'm happy with the result.

Big mod this week, OEM mud flaps to try and keep the van cleaner and hopefully to help protect sidebars when they get fitted

Reckon you must have left the jack under the van, there seems to be hell of a gap between the tyre and arch.
I know! Seriously needs lowering!! Thinking some 40mm H&Rs should do the trick

Go the whole hog and put some B14’s on it. The difference in comfort and handling between lowering springs in stock struts, is night and day compared to B14’s.

I will eventually with the arbs too...I just need to spread the cash out on the van for the time being so I can do a lot of the other smaller bits first;)

I might wash mine tomorrow, but the next 7 days are up and down the motorway.....I might just do the windows and lights.

Had the Reversing Camera from VagTec installed on my LWB barndoor T6
seems alright, just not cheap! :)
on the plus side they reused rather than replace the painted part above the number plate, just modified it,
so the camera actually fits more to the centre than the OEM install (when available)

Dropped the T6 off to get a broken manifold stud and EGR pipe replaced and the dealer loaned me a nice 68 plate van. So off I pop to work for the day and get a call to say it may not be ready for our trip to France on Friday.

After a chat, the dealer says they will provide a loan van if mine isn’t ready which is great, so I finish work and head home. Obviously the van isn’t anything like my T6 Caravelle, no 204bhp, no heated seats, no DSG, no Active Cruise, no LED’s but not a problem coz they are been very good looking after me, however, it’s getting dark and I manually put the lights on and...........nothing! I can’t see the car parked 10 yards away, the lights are atrocious, I get out and check as I thought they were on sidelights......so the orange glow of a candle could do better! They are no better than my 1971 T2 Bay, come on VW, it’s 2019 and surely you can fit better headlights especially for the cost of a T6 van!

I spent 2hrs cleaning tar spots off the side of my van today. More on drivers side than passengers, which is odd. I would have thought it would be more even... Can't get the smell of the tar remover off my hands now...
Worst of all after the wash and wax.... It's bloody raining!

Is that the metal pipe on the back of the engine that splits and hisses air when you blip the throttle?

What tar remover did you use? We use Autoglym Tar and glue remover, and it makes short work of tar spots. It's a simple spray a panel, leave for 1 min, and wipe off the spots.
