I think our messages passed in the ether…I wasn’t being a smart Alec!!!That's what I meant, the ones you use on the shed roof
For onceI think our messages passed in the ether…I wasn’t being a smart Alec!!!
Nope! Normally I’m a smart arse, which is different! For once
You didn't have enough lights already?
Ooh! Where did you have this done please, is it a big job? We’ve just picked up our van but wish we had specced a scenic roof. Going to try a few camps with it and see how we get on without but would be interested to know how easy it was to swap.Had my poptop tent changed to scenic tent. Converter just finished it 10mins ago.
Didnt know that could be done @Salty Spuds...every days a school day! Where do you get such a meter from? Looks a fairly straight forward installation..remove a blank and then connect up?Fitted a kWh meter to the EHU. Many campsites in Europe, especially in winter, meter the electricity & charge you accordingly. Usually at an exorbitant rate. Fitted this so we can keep a track of what we use.

Pretty straight forward job. The meter just goes inline with the incoming supply & then out to the breaker.Didnt know that could be done @Salty Spuds...every days a school day! Where do you get such a meter from? Looks a fairly straight forward installation..remove a blank and then connect up?
Do they bill you against your meter reading or their meter reading?!!Fitted a kWh meter to the EHU. Many campsites in Europe, especially in winter, meter the electricity & charge you accordingly. Usually at an exorbitant rate. Fitted this so we can keep a track of what we use.

Theirs. Depending on the site, they will bill you for all you use or some will include so many kWh in the fee. E.g. we were on one site in Solden & it was €60/night including 5kWh/night. Any extra was charged at 80c/kWh. We used the electric heater for a couple of hours a day & used the Webasto after that. The problem is, they don’t tell you when you’ve used up your included electric, they just start charging you after 5kWh. Me being a tight Yorkshireman was paranoid about going over.Do they bill you against your meter reading or their meter reading?!!
Received a patronising letter this week from one of the caravan clubs explaining how the site fee for our summer booking will increase due to increased cost of electricity. Then the rest of the letter was all about use your solar panel etc!!! So, bill me more for the leccy but ask me not to use what I’ve paid for….?!!!Theirs. We went on a small site near Scarborough & the EHU was metered & you simply paid for what you used. The cost was the normal rate/unit, around 20p. Which tbh is fair. I think that more sites will go down the same route.Received a patronising letter this week from one of the caravan clubs explaining how the site fee for our summer booking will increase due to increased cost of electricity.
